NCA investigator Robert Gadling re-opens the X-Files after having several experiences he cannot explain with conventional science. Dream requests to join the X-Files despite being skeptical of the project and of Gadling, hoping to find out more about an incident involving his childhood friend. When their first case sends them to investigate the mysterious deaths of a group of young people, both men are eerily reminded of unsolved mystery from their own pasts.
