An anthological look at the universe Happy Tree Friends presents, with a more serious lens. Each chapter is a self contained story, taking place at various points and focusing on a different character each time.
There is a town lost to time. Those unlucky enough to be inside it during its removal from reality became trapped, subject to repeated deaths and tortures on a daily basis. For years, they've lived in a state of fear and depression- Life is hell, and all are doomed.
And yet, inexplicably, they keep going.

I've seen many problematic reader-insert collections with different media outlets but never with Happy Tree Friends, so I took it upon myself to make one.
most of these fics are self-indulgent, but I'm open to suggestions as well as criticism since english is not my first language.
the characters can be interpreted as humans or as they're in the show, I left it ambiguous in that regard.
(note: I do not condone or support any of what I write about being carried out in real life. if you can't separate fiction from reality then that's on you.)

Ever wondered why everyone’s favorite (or least favorite) thieving raccoons do what they do? Well you can blame 99% of it on Thrifty, their older brother. But Thrifty just can’t stand being away from his only kin alive for too long. So after moving into Happy Tree town to reunite with them he has to deal with watching his brothers' deaths, and everyone else's insane shenanigans.
Read as an emotionally damaged man pushes back against overly friendly (and weird) townsfolk, accidently befriends multiple lonely old men, and finally takes a damn shower.
And just maybe becomes a better person along the way.

The somewhat peaceful town of Happy Treeville changes when a human woman named Mattie is unthawed from a freezer thanks to a curious Lammy. Mattie's appearance shocks the town as humans are long thought to be extinct.
Mattie for her part, comes to quickly enjoy her new life in Happy Treeville (since her previous life before she was frozen wasn't all that great to begin with) sans ignoring the fact that she and the rest of the residents of Happy Treeville keep dying in horrific ways nearly everyday, with them waking up the next day with no memory of what happened the day before leading to their deaths.
Mattie however realises that she's one of the few residents in the town that remembers her deaths and sets off with a few others to uncover the mystery as to why the residents of this town keep dying.
