The hand not resting on her hip moved to cup her cheek, leaving her thoroughly breathless. “After our…moment, where I summoned those wisps upstairs, I sensed something had changed between us. You withdrew. I can’t say I blamed you.”
Rook opened her mouth, but Emmrich brushed his thumb over her lower lip, much like he had moments ago over her new scars. “Permit me to finish, please.” He had never once interrupted her, or anyone else on the team, for that matter. So Rook fell silent, heart pounding wildly. “I am much older than you. It is why I didn’t fall on my knees for you the moment I met you in the Necropolis and your earnest compliment of my helm made me blush like a schoolboy. How could such a bold, daring, beautiful young woman ever return my affections?”
Oh. Oh…
Emmrich continued, and his fingers tightened on her hip almost possessively. “Rook. Renya.” She shuddered at the use of her given name. “If there is any hope for a foolish old man, would you tell me?” He traced her cheekbone, down her neck, coming to a rest to cup the back of her head. “The beautiful blushes you favor me with, do they mean you feel the same way? Or that you are too shy to tell me no?”

Summary
Following Rook and Davrin in the life they hoped for after Dragon Age the Veilguard and beyond.
I really loved these characters and had to continue their story and it is going much further than I intended. You'll see the other characters dip in and out of the story regularly.
Later Chapters lead into what Veilguard's secret ending was alluding to and will feature all of the main protagonists from across the Dragon Age Series of games as well as some of the main supporting cast.

Varric smirked but didn't meet her gaze. "Let's just say I've got my work cut out for me."
She didn't believe he could, not entirely. But she wasn't about to tell him that.

Summary
A full week had passed since the dragon attacks and Rook was finally starting to feel like everything was getting back to normal. At least as normal as it could. Neve was still in Minrathous dealing with the fallout of the Venatori seizing control of the city, so the team didn't feel quite as complete, but Bellara and Harding were working on finding other recruits to help them. Solas had suggested Rook find a Fade expert and a dragon hunter and her companions wasted no time in starting the search. All they had to do now was wait.
Waiting had to be one of Rook's least favorite things to do, so to counter her restlessness, Lucanis suggested they implement daily training into their schedules. They needed to stay in top form if they were going to be fighting Gods after all. Davrin had overheard the suggestion and showed up in the Dining Hall, as they were moving the furniture, to ask if he could join them.
