He didn’t even realize he was falling asleep until he woke up again, bolting upright and looking around wildly.
Wilbur noticed two things right away that made him panic for the second time since the SBI was stranded.
One was that the engines were running again, their familiar rumble once again permeating the ship, and as he looked around he caught sight of the blackness of space through a small window at the far end of the room.
The second was that the human was nowhere in sight.
Or- The alien crew of the SBI crash land on Earth, and Wilbur goes against Phil and Techno's backs to help an injured human. Said human (cough cough *Tommy*) escapes into the ship, and Wilbur has to find him before his crew does.
Shenanigans ensue.

People spoke more freely around him because he was young, he was small and he often just… blended into the background if he stood still enough. That meant he heard all kinds of talk from servants, guards and even nobles!
He knew that Jerry the guard always cheated at dice and that Ava the maid only cleaned parts of the castle that were visible, letting dust and dirt cake in the corners until a more diligent servant cleaned it up.
The nobles were harder to get information from, though. The ones that spoke freely and loudly rarely had anything worthwhile for him to listen to. The real gossip came from the quiet ones… the ones that always looked over their shoulders or scanned a room before sharing anything that could be cool or interesting.
Luckily for Tommy though, they weren’t quiet or paranoid enough this time and he heard the coolest of news. The emperor of the north was coming to visit their kingdom to discuss trade routes!
That in and of itself wasn't interesting but the emperor certainly was!

Sometimes Tommy thinks Wilbur spends more time singing than he does speaking.
Tommy loves their music. But he struggles to remember all the words to the Earth songs he grew up with, and trying to sing or hum one of them often ends with him feeling worse when he can’t get it right.
Which leads to where Tommy is now, sitting at a desk with his tongue between his teeth, Duffle on his lap for moral support while he shakily writes out what he hopes is a letter to Quackity.
