    Two cloth straps hung from her elbow, fluttering sadly in the wind. Ember's groceries were a black, gooey pile of ash on the ground that was already beginning to blow away.

    Ember stared. She lifted her head. A field of alien robots stared back.

    "Those," Ember said, "were my," Ember snarled, "FUCKING GROCERIES! I JUST BOUGHT THOSE EGGS, MOTHERFUCKER!"

    "I have never seen or read of such capabilities in carbon-based lifeforms," stated Optimus Prime. There was a note of intrigue in his bassy tone. Ember didn't like it. "Do you know how you came to have this power of transformation?"

    Ember casually stretched out her legs and crossed them at the ankle. "I'm just special," she said.

    After Ember's home is attacked by alien robots, Ember decides to level the playing field and take revenge. For a human, the idea is laughable - except Ember isn't human. Nobody knows what Ember is, but that's alright: ripping robots to pieces doesn't require a valid ID. If only these other robots would leave Ember alone...

Ever wary of mechs, Red Alert is torn between believing that the strange, young Praxian indeed had no memory of who or what he was or that the mech would turn on him and kill him in his recharge.

    With the war a few vorns in and with no end in sight, the two start their journey to the border in hopes of freedom...that is if they survive.

    A small band of Decepticons aren't satisfied with the way things played out. Seeking revenge and compensation, they take the sparked medic hostage, and the race begins. Optimus must juggle his Primely duties and searching for his medic while complying to the outrageous demands.

    His desperation is what leads him to Megatron.

    How would you react if you found out sentient living robots are real? How would you react after finding out that the legends you’ve been told are alive? How would you react after crashing on a planet, just to learn it’s the very being you were created to destroy? Or if you were faced with all your siblings once again?
    Prima, the Warrior of Light, had lived a long life. If you asked him whether it was a good one or not, he wouldn’t know how to answer. He made mistakes. He held true to the programming from his Creator, ignoring an unspoken rule the others had tried to convince him about: their Creator wanted them to learn, to experience things, and wanted them to have what he didn’t.
    Only after he lost all, had the First Prime realized what that meant. But now, as he got to Earth and met beings he had never thought of, he also stumbled upon familiar faces. He wonders how ironic life is to split all thirteen of them, just to bring them back together.
    This story in particular starts with a war between two factions who had lost their way, and ends with something much bigger – the revival of a planet, and the return of a bunch of hateful creatures the tenth Prime created.

      “The Towers” (Mirage’s home) =‘s “Celestial Spires”?
      I like this Hound characterization! I didn’t know much about him before.
      The Iacon history world building is neat too, along with the reality of war (thinking the base drama of the rumors around Jazz’s and Prowl’s relations was a necessary moral-lift/distraction because of all the recent losses)
      I’m getting the idea the brig is like an adult time-out (this is the 2nd fic I’ve read mentioning Sideswipe and Sunstreaker ending up there again), which is hilarious

      Oooh, I like this characterization of Prowl too! It’s interesting to see him not-yet the chief strategist, and also to see him vying for the emotional/moral side of things (prioritizing survivors over/along with energon).
      (Really that whole scene was super cool)
      Ha, I like the idea of wild animals like turbo foxes also naturally having “battle systems” to engage
      Woah! I am loving the Mirage characterization. And the world building around the religion! And details of noble’s frames, and general Cybertronian anatomy!

      The description and whole scenario of the bombed out cities is horrifying. I found the theme for the Blasted Steps in Silksong (including the ambient wind) really matched the mood while reading.

      Augh, this truly does an excellent job of showing how horrible a situation this is, and giving real reactions to it. (Mirage, Hound, Skids, Prowl…)

      Oh how curious! Here Prowl’s TacNet is a glitch, a boon as much as an ailment

      Oooh, I love the idea of one being able to feel the energy in the air when there are comm links, or at least lots of them
