      “So, uh, Impulse,” he begins, running a careful finger along the edge of his axe. “We’re up here. On the Nether. Probably the quietest spot on the entire server.”

      It’s strange to speak as the boogeyman—what Tango means to say is that this is a safe place, somewhere they can speak freely. But the curse twists his tone, and what he really says is that no one will hear Impulse if he tries to scream.

      He doesn’t seem to clue in, though, just chuckling. “Except for these barking dogs over here!”

      “I know!” The mention of the dogs, a key part of his plan, sends adrenaline shooting through Tango’s blood. “I know, I know, I know, I know, I know, alright, alright, but listen.” He advances on Impulse, brandishing his axe with a smile that feels wicked on his lips. “Got a little secret for you, my friend.”

      Finally, Impulse looks uneasy. His gaze narrows at the axe in hands, and when Tango tips it toward him, he flinches.

      “O-oh,” Impulse stammers. “Okay.”

    Contrary to his netherborn-nature, Tango hates fire. Some of the less-progressive netherborns would blame that on his Overworld upbringing, and maybe they're right; Tango has always shied away from the presence of open flame, despite the instinctual desire to roll around in the flames and soak in the heat.

    This posed a problem because, like all netherborns, Tango was made of fire, and his hair was constantly ablaze.

    Fire was like a toddler. One moment of inattention, and entire buildings were reduced to ashen rubble. Mojang knows how thankful he is Xisuma turned fire-tick off on the Hermitcraft server; he’d have hated to see his friends’ beautiful creations destroyed because he got too excited and lost control.

    The Death Servers weren’t like that.

    Thanks to some kind of glitch in the soulmate system, Tango has been having trouble controlling his flames. He's constantly working to not burn his and Jimmy's belongings, and has been somewhat successful at it.

    Really, you'd think the Ranch would have burnt down because of him.
