Summary
A quiet night with his companions of the Hazbin Hotel has Alastor revisiting his past on earth.
“Why didn’t it work out here?” Charlie asks. She looks sad for him but there was no need, he was much more content in hell.
“Well, my dear, why doesn't anything work out? I found a freedom here not granted to me before.” He responds. Because without societal norms, one needs not conform themselves to society.
OR
Alastor and Vox met one summer in 1929 and Alastor relives some of those moments with his friends at the hotel.

Summary
The deer swiftly, although a little wobbly, turns to face Vox, legs crossed and his coat not quite done all the way up. His otherwise pale complexion is flushed and sue Vox for thinking of other ways to get him looking like that.
“Vox! My dear, old friend,” Alastor chirps, motioning to the stool beside him as the jazz picks up in tempo. “Have a seat.”
Vox eyes him suspiciously, but he’d rather not look a gift horse in the mouth.
No way in hell is he missing a chance to see Alastor being drunk off his head.Or at the very least, tipsy.

Summary
Some history brings people together, others pull them apart. Alastor and Vox's history may be more complicated than that.
“And just what would I be staying for, dear Vox?” It’s a test. They both know what it is Vox wants, both know that Alastor’s never shown any interest in giving it to him.
“Anything.” The word is answered like a sigh rather than a response.
It’s true that he’s never been so interested in this to pursue it, but, he is certainly interested in the piety it could unlock in the other.
