That little hint of an accent never really did anything for Deuce, though. He’d had far more embarrassing, revealing reactions to Ace’s different tones over the years, but he’d long gotten used to the trace accent. But if he imagined Ace with a heavier accent, or speaking another language, this island’s language springing to mind purely from his recent exposure to it—the imagined purr of a whisper in his ear sent a shiver down his spine, and he barely stopped himself from visibly shivering as well.
Anna smirked at him, wide and self-satisfied, clearly reading him better than he would really like, and Kimi stuck her tongue out at him, slapping a handful of berri onto the bartop for whatever penalty losing the argument left her, grumbling to herself all the while.
"Thinking of Ace talking pretty to you, Baby Doc?" Anna asked, sipping victoriously at the cocktail that was slid her way. "Maybe we should pull him aside with that dictionary, teach him a few phrases. Gemm, any sign of something along the lines of 'Let me take you up against the nearest wall, my dearest darlingest love'...?"

Deuce's breath sucked in sharply, eyes blinking open with a little more awareness than before even as his hips twitched forward to press more fully against his. He smiled around Deuce's nipple, falling completely still and waiting to see what the waking reaction would be, watching and silent because he wasn't going to be the one to break the soft silence that blanketed the morning.

It was weird seeing him so bundled up, wearing his green jacket over black shorts. Which was to say, it was weird seeing Ace's own body so bundled up, since he'd stopped wearing shirts upon taking Whitebeard's mark years ago. It was weird seeing his own face, expressions twisting under someone else's control, and he absently twirled a lock of blue hair around his finger as he sat against the headboard of their bed, watching Deuce in his body through Deuce's own amber eyes.
