Obi-Wan is extremely worried about his former padawan. Anakin obviously needs to sleep before he seriously damages himself, but Obi-Wan doubts that the young man will sleep willingly, with the terrifying visions that plague his dreams.
Obi-Wan must resort to using a sleep suggestion on Anakin. Force knows if his brother will forgive him for the betrayal of trust, but sometimes, you must do what is in your loved one's best interests, even if they will hate you for it.

Qui-Gon has a tendency to bring home pathetic lifeforms, but his involvement usually ends there. The Maverick, Master of the Living Force, is really not the best at follow-through. After years with his master, Obi-Wan Kenobi has adapted to Qui-Gon’s habits. But a slave boy from Tatooine is not remotely similar to an exotic carnivorous plant or a misunderstood kept pet monster.
On the journey back to Coruscant, Obi-Wan Kenobi starts doing what he always does: handling the numerous crucial details of making Qui-Gon’s latest spacebrained adoption work (or, at least, conveying the newest pathetic lifeform to its best sanctuary, preserve, or forever home). This time, Qui-Gon notices. So does the pathetic lifeform. And Anakin Skywalker’s new forever home might be with Obi-Wan himself.
An AU where Obi-Wan Kenobi gets a little more credit from the start; the Force likes Obi-Wan and Anakin together; everyone gets a choice; and after the occupation, Padmé pays her planet’s debts in a way that matters.

Things Steve was not expecting (aside from "literally everything about this situation") on his first visit to Asgard: getting roped into a temporary job as Odin's errand boy, seeing an immensely powerful and ancient alien about an immensely powerful and ancient artifact, and touring said alien's bizarre collection of things and beings from across the galaxy.
Things he really, really wasn't expecting: finding Thor's not-actually-dead-after-all brother in a museum case as part of the collection. (The fact that this discovery results in various kinds of trouble is pretty much par for the course at this point, though.)
[This fic was originally started for MCU AU Fest in 2017 and finished for Marvel Big Bang the same year...and then finally revised into a more presentable state for WIP Big Bang in 2021.]
