When Aziraphale discovers that the Metatron is dead/kidnapped/spirited away/otherwise not here, he decides it might be safer to perhaps...not disclose that information to the other archangels. Not right at this moment. Or ever, actually. But he can't stall forever. The Book of Life is missing too, and the culprit isn't shy about erasing everything, or everyone, he's ever loved.

Summary
When Crowley gets unceremoniously kicked out of his flat, he turns to the only other person he knows is on his side. They are just about to take their relationship to the next level when an amnesiac archangel turns up at their door. Their quiet, peaceful, fragile existence together is turned upside down. They are forced back to work, and this time the stakes are universal.
A retelling of seasons 2 and 3 with more communication, more open displays of feelings, minimal hurt, and a whole lot of happily ever after.

Once his foot landed on the pavement of the sidewalk, he looked around and breathed it all in. Something inside himself settled at the familiar sights of Soho and quickly lifted his mood. He took a step and began walking towards his bookshop, and before he knew it, he was standing right in front of the double doors. The bell above the door announced his arrival and made him smile. His smile broadened when he saw everything looked exactly as he left it; it didn't even look like anything was sold. He stepped further in and just took in the whole place, breathing in the comforting smell of books, dust, leather, and glue. This place was home away from home; he could almost cry. He could have if the bell above the doors behind him didn't announce another presence. He whipped around to see a dark, lanky figure standing frozen in front of the doors that closed behind him. His red hair long and quiffed hung in loose curls on one side of his face, had sharp cheekbones, and wore round dark sunglasses. Aziraphale found himself wondering what the beautiful stranger's eyes looked like. Something then began to tickle the back of his mind. He didn't get long to examine it when the man's voice croaked, "You're back..."

Summary
For Crowley, after their disastrous final conversation, after Aziraphale walked away, existence was pain. Left with an all consuming heartache that alcohol can’t seem to dull and no hope in sight, he makes the choice to forget everything about the angel who left.
Once the memories are gone, he starts a new life as Anthony, retired demon and antique bookshop owner.
For once in his existence, the future is truly his and he only has himself to answer to. Things are bright and full of possibilities, but Anthony may yet learn that some things are too integral to remain lost.

One cold night Aziraphale encounters a redheaded stranger taking shelter at a bus stop. Not wanting the poor man to sleep out in the elements, Aziraphale pays for his bus fare in hopes the man can reach safety and shelter. Before parting Aziraphale gifts him his scarf to keep warm.
To Aziraphale, it's a simple act of kindness that eventually gets pushed to the back of his mind. To Crowley, it's a life changing encounter.
Twenty years later Anthony Crowley is an accomplished singer and songwriter, dressing in all black except for a curious light tartan scarf. When asked about it, he always responds that it was a gift from an angel. An angel he's been searching for all those years.

Aziraphale continued, using his words to establish the separation he was determined to maintain. “Tell me, have you turned respectable or are you still playing at being a flash bastard?”
For his part, Crowley looked delighted, obviously taking the statement as a challenge.“Wut,” he called, stretching the word out, sounding almost playful. “Aziraphale Fell!” He enunciated every syllable of the name and smiled the whole way through. “As I live and breathe. Well, I’m sure you’re respectable enough for the both of us.”
