    In Ahsoka’s defense, she did meditate like Obi-Wan had asked her to. She just didn’t come to the same conclusion he apparently had about her going on the mission.

    In fact, the more she thought about it, the more she ran through similar scenarios and the particulars of this one, the more she was absolutely sure she was meant to be there.

    Or: Anakin refuses to let Ahsoka come on the Zygerria mission, so she stows away instead.

    To be fair, Anakin wasn’t actually the one intended for the position; the role of ‘captured slave with a fiery attitude’ was initially supposed to go to Ahsoka. But upon seeing the disguise they picked out for her (if it could even be called a disguise, considering how karking little it covered!), Anakin had immediate objections.

    What Anakin failed to realize, however, was that it now meant that he had to wear it.*

    During a desperate bid to save he Togruta, Rex, Ahsoka, Anakin and Obi-Wan go undercover as Zygerrian slavers. When Obi-Wan is caught, an attempt is made to free him and things go horribly wrong. Obi-Wan and Ahsoka are captured, Anakin is trying to convince the queen to tell him where the Togruta and his friends are so he can free them and Rex... Rex has amnesia and has been brainwashed by the Zygerrians into believing he's a slaver.

    The pressure is on and things get really complicated when the Royal Slave Auction is re-scheduled for a couple weeks out and Rex is assigned to guard Ahsoka until then.

While such a rich arc with many fanfic possibilities, there are relatively few fanfics, and even fewer complete works. While the ones that do exist are generally very high quality, I do wonder why they are so few and far between? Leave your thoughts in the comments, along with what you would like to see in Zygerrian fanfics. Personally, I am a fan of telling stories set during the arc, not after, and I like to get into the dark, gritty realities of slavery. What about you?
