Summary
Two months after the disappearance of Shiro and the Kerberos mission team, Earth fell into chaos as the Galra, alien invaders, took control. Initially, the world welcomed the possibility of extraterrestrial life, but the Galra's return with larger forces turned the skies into a battleground. The devastating attack left Earth under Galra control, with humans reduced to slaves and subjected to harsh conditions. Keith became a mechanic to survive, and helped Pidge find their lost family members. Lance and Hunk worked with the rebellion to get rid of the Galra. And Shiro is still Champion and fighting for his life.

Keith gets caught, a druid gets into his head (and his fingernails *shudder*) and plants memories that convince Keith that the team tried to get him killed. This results in Keith persistently distrusting the team after they rescue him, convinced that they have it out for him. Until Red forces everyone to form Voltron, and in the subsequent mind-meld, Keith's false memories are seen by the others who finally convince him that those memories weren't real. Keith makes up with them, but his trust isn't instantly restored. "But of all the people in the universe, they were the ones he distrusted the least. Which would have to do."

Keith gets captured by an Unilu informant who saw his knife in the space mall and taken to a Druid interested in the Blade of Marmora. To the Druid, this is unexpected but not unwelcome, because there's far more that can be a achieved with a paladin of Voltron- far more damage to be done.

No one dies but Keith does seriously hurt HUnk and Lance and there's no kind of team-forgiveness thing that happens (and no real understanding demonstrated that it wasn't his choice, either) so in that sense yeah it's definitely a bad ending.

Summary
Shiro and Keith didn't crash into each other and land on the same planet, instead it was Lance who crashed into Keith. While running from the Galra empire who is searching for them, Lance and Keith have to overcome their rivalry to survive. While they are on the run, the team desperately is trying to find them and are being pulled to their limits as more challenges arrive.
(takes place during episode 1 in season 2 and creates it's own plot on the way)
