Summary
In the beginning, God made the heavens and the earth. He made the stars, the sun, the moon. All creatures, great and small. Carved canyons and built mountains, turned oceans into lakes and lakes into springs, from the wildest volcano to the gentlest meadow. And then God made humans. He made some Alpha, some he made Beta, some he made Omega. There were some that he made he made for no one else. Some were born to gravitate to one another, their hands made to hold and their hearts to love. Sometimes it wasn’t always easy. Some loved and lost. Some lost before they could love. Some were nudged towards each other as infants and ripped away as soon as adults realized they were two halves of one whole. There are some people whose lives are so intertwined, that if one died, it would be too cruel to not let them both go.

Summary
Anatoly Kynazev didn't expect his contract with HYDRA to end so suddenly, nor did he expect to go home with the literal Winter Soldier.
Veterans shouldn't be kept in dirty cages and beaten around like rabid dogs. They also shouldn't be left to die far from the sun. Anatoly isn't quite sure what the Soldier did to deserve this, but he's quite sure that the punishment doesn't fit the crime. What he hadn't been counting on was that the HYDRA operative tasked with jailing the Soldier would be willing to sell. Only a fool would pass up that offer and the Soldier has such pretty blue eyes. What he wasn't counting on, though, was how skittish the Soldier would be or the intensity of Anatoly's own feelings.
Hopefully, he won't regret this decision. And if he does, hopefully the Winter Soldier will make it better.

When Fury calls Steve to DC to protect Project Insight from the Soldier, Steve’s life gets even more complicated. But everything is resolved to everyone’s satisfaction (except the Nazis), with a little spycraft and a lot of explosions along the way.

“I won’t have that.” At the idea of Bucky and his friends being at risk, Steve feels his own stubbornness rising. “You all shouldn’t be in danger because of me.”
“With all due respect, Mr. President,” Okoye says softly. “I signed an oath to protect you no matter what, and Nat feels the same. And I’m guessing Barnes does too, given…everything.”
Sliding his eyes sideways, Steve sees two pink spots surface above Bucky’s cheekbones for a moment before disappearing.
“A’course I do.” Bucky’s voice wavers only a little, but Steve knows just how much emotion lies behind those words. “Only I’m protecting my best friend, president or no president.”

Summary
As Fury disappears around the corner toward his own office on the other side of the West Wing, Steve heads into the Oval Office. The blast of air conditioning is a shock, but a welcome one.
He’s relieved at the coolness, but is also keenly aware of a sharp feeling of untethered loneliness. Not for the first time this month — not even for the first time this week — he feels desperately alone and isolated. Even amongst his wonderful staff and with a lovely, adoring wife.
Images of Bucky, pacing down Columbia Street in Brooklyn, sitting commandingly astride Steve’s hips and riding his dick, lying in bed with him and talking, that sweet smile flashing across his face like a sunrise, race through Steve’s head all at once and a sharp pain lances through his chest.
Suddenly the only thing Steve wants in the world is to get away with the love of his life, to hide in a remote paradise as far away from his duties and colleagues as possible and spend his days worshipping Bucky the way he deserves.
“Mr. President?” Okoye’s voice is concerned but cautious, as if she’s nervous about overstepping her remit.
“I’m OK, Okoye. Really.”
