Cutup was already shaking his head. “It wasn’t like danger exactly. More like- I don’t know. I just had a feeling, I don’t know how to describe it.”
“A feeling from the object?” Fives prompted.
“No,” Cutup said. “Like- static. Like the air on Kamino before a big storm. Or a hallway junction where you have to pick a direction, and you can tell that one direction is worse than the other.”
Everyone absorbed that for a moment. “Hallway junctions have better or worse directions?” Echo asked.
Hevy snorted. “Only if there’s a long-neck in one direction.”
Or: Domino Squad is Force-Sensitive. All five of them.

Summary
Fifty years succeeding the Clone Wars, the Crimson Corsair and his pirate crew set out to scour the wreckage of a ship that had belonged to a political head of the former Confederacy of Independent Systems - where Jedi treasures were said to have been onboard when it had crashed. What the crew finds, however, is definitely not what had been rumored to be there. Going forward, Ahri, one of the remaining members of the pirate crew, silently struggles with the loss of their captain, but decides to put all her focus in getting accustomed to their newest member - the intriguing clone trooper they'd found in stasis onboard the dated wreckage. Through common interests and an instant connection Ahri and the trooper grow close while the crew lays low for the following few weeks in hopes that their captain may make a miraculous return. Ahri's unsure past feelings towards the captain and newfound feelings towards the clone trooper collide as the crew navigates through the Outer Rim in search of forgotten Separatist treasures with the assistance of the man who had lived through it all - the same trooper who must come to terms with waking up in the future as well as realizing his own feelings towards one of the people who'd found him.

The door outside the cockpit was locked. Kal didn’t bother considering why. He just sliced into it and tore the unfamiliar code to shreds. The doors slid open. Kal stepped forward without checking the room.
“Stay-stay back!”
Kal blinked and froze, more from surprise than obedience to the order.
Verd’ika.
There was… there was a little girl. Her skin was a light royal blue. Her eyes were completely red. She didn’t even seem to have pupils. Her hair was long and a darker black than empty space. Kal had seen a lot of people in this galaxy, but he’d never seen one like her before.
The child was wearing a tattered jumpsuit, almost completely gone on one shoulder, and no shoes. There was a blaster rifle, far too large for her, abandoned by her feet. She was holding a knife in both hands, elbows locked and shaking.
Kal was a riot of emotions, but if there was one thing he knew, it was that he wouldn’t be leaving this crash-site without her.
NOTE: Karen Tr*viss, who created Kal Skirata and wrote the Republic Commando Books, is a terrible person, so I am stealing him. Kal is a good person and a good father in this fic
