But he was always reminded that there were still rules. His Father, while far more lenient than most other Omega parents would consider in good taste, had always made sure Damian was aware that there were certain things that would never be left to Damian's discretion.
Marriage was always one of them.
Damian, no matter what society seemed to think of Omegas, was not stupid. It wasn't lost on him that every "friend" his Father or siblings encouraged him to make was just them sizing up a potential match, hoping that someone would latch onto Damian and vice versa.
Yet none of those carefully orchestrated friendships had ever become anything more.
Damian had always suspected his Father found that disappointing.
Apparently, it had simply meant his Father needed a different approach to the issue.
Without Damian's knowledge, his Father had been hammering out the details of a marriage between Damian and Roman Sionis's son, Sebastian, since he was seventeen. The entire marriage would be built on the basis of a business partnership between the two families being formed.

This is something he learns a year after Damian comes to live at Wayne Manor.
Damian has now been living in Wayne Manor for the last two years.
These three facts are important.
Or, Damian gets hit with fear toxin for the first time and it leads to some revelations and lots of confusion within the Batfamily.
Or, or Damian gets fear toxined and seeks comfort in someone like home.

A light frost covered the surface except where Damian had pressed his glove to the glass and wiped it away, taking all of Damian’s thoughts away with it, his mind emptying as his view cleared.
Jonathan.
Damian shakes his head, closes his eyes, forces himself to not rip his domino from his skin to check once more if what is in front of him is real. It can’t be real. It can’t.
Damian opens his eyes and it’s still him. Still Jonathan. Except he is not the Jonathan Damian saw last, laughing in the sunlight at a tailgate party, his arm wrapped around his long term boyfriend Jay. That Jonathan was four years older than Damian, on the cusp of graduating with a degree whereas Damian would only be starting his first.
Except there is a Jonathan in the case in front of him, looking two years younger than Damian, his hair still as curly and unruly as Damian can remember it being when Jonathan was eleven and following Damian around making promises of forever.
…
A mission goes awry when Damian finds a second, younger Jonathan Kent and rescues him, bringing both the Kent and Wayne families together as they attempt to cope with this new development.

"Robin!" Jason's voice bellowed, gun already drawn and pointed at Michael. How could Damian let his guard down and not notice the man pulling a knife?!
It only took Damian a split second to realize what was going on, and before Jason could pull the trigger, he called out, "Red Hood, no!" and, pushing his feet off the ground to throw himself in front of Michael.
A gunshot rang through the air, and a painful grunt left Damian's lips as his body was thrust back from the force of the bullet, and a searing pain flashed through his veins.
Jason's eyes widened when he realized, and his gun clattered to the ground. No!, he thought. That—That couldn't be! Why did Damian do that? Jason couldn't quite finish his thoughts before he raced over to where Damian was lying, hand clutched to his shoulder.

Apparently happy with the choice, he pulled the bowl out and scrapped the covering, next going for a large serving spoon from one of the doors so he could shovel it into his mouth like a starved dog. "Fuckin' chopsticks was what we had to keep an eye on." He added in between mouthfuls, giving Dick a smirk and a knowing glance, as if they were both in on it and Dick knew anything about what he meant. "Anyway, I'm out. See you next family reunion, or tragedy or whatever."
And then he was gone, as was one of Alfred's favourite serving spoons and bowl, and the potato salad Dick knew for a fact Bruce had been saving to eat for lunch the next day. Jason probably knew that part, to be fair.
"...Chopsticks?" He muttered to himself, baffled, in the now empty kitchen.

Damian has some concerning habits. Jason's the only one that seems used to it. The rest of the bats scramble.

Summary
Death was not a new concept to Damian Wayne. Not when he died. Over and over and over. Not when the Lazarus Pit flowed beneath his skin. Death wasn't something Damian was worried about .Not when he couldn't die. But holding secrets from his family, who paint him as reckless and too abrasive, is bound to pile up till it explodes. And of course, it starts and ends with Damian dying. Oh, and Jon's there too. Damian blames the start of his unraveling as Jonathan's fault. But, to be fair, its really not as bad as it seems. For Damian at least.
