    He froze as if he had said too much. It was too late. You understood perfectly, and it hurt. He must have spent so much time alone. Mandalorians weren’t exactly known for much beyond fighting, and you couldn’t imagine them being much into relationships. Such a large portion of their young was adopted, it couldn’t have been a life with much sentimentality.
    “I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have asked,” he continued at your silence.
    “No. I can stay,” you breathed out. You weren’t thrilled at the idea, it was too innocent. You didn’t just want to climb into his bed if you weren’t going to get to give him everything, like you wanted.

    After the inevitable split of the Mantis' crew, Cal, plagued by the insatiable hunger for a fight, travels the Empire ridden galaxy with Merrin. Be it a sabotage or an escort mission, he faces each opportunity head on and with full force. Every dent in the Empire's hull makes them weaker, no matter how small.
    Be it fate or the way of the Force, it is on one such mission that Cal feels a tremble in his unshaken conviction and finds himself reaching out to those closest to him with questions even they may not know the answer to. He might have poked the hornet's nest for too long and finally, the hornet came out to see.

     

    Takes place after the game. Takes into consideration Battle Scars with a few tweaks here and there. A wannabe sequel that might be soon retconned by the official sequel.
    This is the final addition to my collection The New Jedi Order where you can find two cute fics about Cal's and Merrin's love that precede this story's timeline. It's not neccessary to read them in order to enjoy this story.

Tech, although a thorough planner and a competent fighter, is not one to offer company or reassurance - not that you need either of those things. But.. of course, you do.
