When the peaceful island is at risk of war, one thing is certain: the world’s best family will work together with the Number 1 Tank Engine and his friends to save their island from War! (Meanwhile the Diesels plan their own attack on these criminals)
In other words: they all have to be Really Useful!

This AU is about the ideas of human treatment of 'living machines'. Yes, they are more alive than in cannon, I roughly base them on the theory of siliconic life. However, even though they are more alive than just machines with faces, they are totally different from carbonic life (humans, animals, plants etc.). This is the first chapter of the AU, focuses on Diesel being mistreated. Warning of mild abuse and alcohol usage. After getting yelled and scolded at by the Fat Controller for crashing a goods train one day, the engines began noticing James acting more.. differently.
Before the crash, he was all vain and stubborn like usual. But now, he looked.. worried and anxious. With a tad bit of fear too.
Although, all this would only cause more trouble since the other engines like Gordon and Henry would just think that James was putting up an act for some pity.
All that, would eventually lead to the breaking of the Red Engine.
