Summary
Over the past decade of his friendship with Sam, Sebastian discovered a confusing phenomenon. Most of the time he saw Sam as his lifelong best friend; a person he'd known since before he could remember, nothing more. But every now and again something would happen - the light would hit Sam's face just right, or he'd fall over laughing at one of his own jokes, or bite his lip in concentration while zeroing in on a video game. Something would occur, something small and mundane, but that something would have a powerful effect. It would force Sebastian to wonder what it would be like to kiss him.
The phenomenon wasn't a crush. It was an unwanted parasite, growing stronger and hungrier with time.
And there it was, rearing its ugly head again, as Sam lost himself in the music.

LITERALLY OBSESSED!!!!! The dynamic is so fucking good omfg I cannot even count all the various connections in my brain that were rewired. I have made a habit out of re-reading this once every few weeks to experience the euphoria all over again. To date, my absolute favourite fic I've read for Sambastian and genuinely possibly my favourite fic I've ever read full stop. I think I could recite the opening scene of chapter 5 from memory. I will never recover from this

The presence of Abigail, who seemed intent on positioning herself between Juni Mae and the boys, added another layer of complexity to the unfolding tapestry of her life in the town.

Sebastian has a killer crush on Sam and their closeness only makes it worse. No matter how much he wants him he feels like Sam deserves better, that his crush alone is some sort of disrespect to him. Still, though, he can't get him out of his head and apparently it's the same for Sam. Who knew.
This focuses a good deal on Sam and Seb's transness and could be both gender dysphoria and euphoria inducing! Read at your own discretion!

Benji is one of my favorite writers in stardew fandom, and this fic (as with his other fics) absolutely nails it as far as perfect pacing, characterization, and writing. Not to mention the smut itself is just, phenomenal!!

He craned his neck, looking to where his hand was stuck, surprised to see it was tied to the bedframe with Sam's rolled up t-shirt — the same t-shirt Sam had been wearing when he had gone to bed. He glanced at his other hand and saw it was tied up with the black t-shirt Sebastian had thrown on the floor right before they had gone to sleep.
