Summary
Zim damages his PAK in a lab accident. It’s certainly nothing to worry about... as long as the Tallest send him those replacement parts before it starts seriously affecting his health. Zim’s injury and the resulting increase in his strange behavior inevitably sets Dib off, and his increasing suspicion and paranoia leads to an event that tips the delicate balance of their conflict wildly out of Zim’s favor. Summary
Bad nights happen sometimes. That's normal, Dib's been through them before. The easiest solution to fight the nightmares is to avoid them completely. Simply don't sleep. Easier to do when you have a distraction, especially if it's in the form of an alien Invader who's got this brilliant idea to kidnap you, fly you out to the middle of the solar system and not be entirely truthful in his reasoning for it.
Dib is exhausted, Zim is being vague and Gir is currently chewing on some questionable objects.

Summary
When Dib turned 18, he made a deal with his father: he would give up his paranormal research, go off to university, and work at Membrane Labs; in return, he would never have to worry about money ever again. It’s been a few years now, and Dib has completed his side of the deal early. Now he’s stuck working in a sterile, boring laboratory studying whatever it is his father assigns him.
Things come to a head, however, when Dib is knocked overboard while on a marine expedition and is subsequently rescued by an eccentric pair of old men. Soon enough, Dib finds himself spinning a web of lies that leads him to a sleepy town known only as Gravity Falls.
All to study mushrooms of course. Or at least that’s the reason his father thinks Dib is so keen on exploring this small town in the middle of nowhere. No other reason…

Summary
Zim chooses to follow during one of Dib’s paranormal investigations, unbeknownst to Dib. After escaping, arguing, and barely surviving, the boys find it hard to go back to their old dynamic. Dib is cold and harsh, embracing the change in their dynamic whilst Zim is avoidant and quiet, desperately trying to return to how they were. Gaz and Gir team up to try and get the boys to work things out. Tons of silliness follows.

Summary
On the eve of Dib's 13th birthday, Zim goes missing. A year later, Dib dies in a terrible "accident". 4 years after Zim's disappearance, he returns to find the Membrane family in shambles. Membrane is a shell of his former self, Gaz is trapped in the mental health facility her brother had previously been sent to, and Dib is dead. GIR had long been dismantled, his internal power core and memory chip salvaged, leaving poor, defective, outlaw Zim with nothing.
Yet, despite this, there is hope.
Membrane reaches out to Zim, offering him a space in his home. Zim reaches back, and they slowly begin rebuilding and repairing their found family. Things aren't easy, however. Gaz still blames Zim for her brother's death and her father for locking her away, Membrane still doesn't know how to parent, and GIR is really annoying. Zim is still traumatized from his time in space (which he refuses to talk about), and the Irken Empire isn't ready to let the most widely hated outlaw off so easily.
Dib's ghost still haunts the family, and they'll be forced to address what really happened to Dib on the day of his 14th birthday (and space wars!)

Summary
Formerly known as Encoder Zim / Encoder Zim AU - the real title came to me, which is Canon Event.
This is a non-linear story -- ultimately, Zim came to Earth as an Irken Encoder. His job was to learn about the planet, its history, and its inhabitants' weaknesses -- all so the process of assimilating the planet into the Irken Empire can go as smoothly as possible. This is a long process -- but Zim is very, very competent at his job.
Over the course of 20 years, though, Zim has finally met his match in a human named Dib Membrane. He may be just a tiny bit obsessed with him. Just a tiny bit.
It would probably help if he'd just admit that, though.
