    Take that time he faceplanted into Camelot. “King” was not a title he was expecting to get, nor was he sad to leave it behind when he was finally sent home. Leadership like that just wasn’t his style, and by the time Nimue opened the portal he was eager to return. And when a reformed wizard, who, notwithstanding her remaining control issues wanted to make up for past betrayal, wrapped a small spell around his ankle before he stepped through the portal, neither he nor anyone else was any the wiser.

    (It’s not like it would be needed. The Knight of the Wind had a knack for defying the odds, for getting up no matter how many times the world struck him down. His world was in good hands. The spell was simply a precaution to assuage Merlina’s own worries. It was never meant to be triggered.)

    For the Sonic Big Bang 2024!

    After the events of Sonic Forces, the Restoration is in full effect. All energy is being pushed towards rebuilding, finding survivors, and healing the injured. Everyone's head is on a swivel though in preparation of another Eggman attack, lest he return to destroy what they've worked so hard to rebuild.

    They did not anticipate the return of Infinite. Although the jackal is...not quite himself. With the Phantom Ruby shattered and a single weak power remaining, Infinite encourages Sonic to simply end him. It's better for everyone after all. A repayment to all for his crimes.

    Sonic however has a different idea. A second chance. And soon a trial for Infinite begins. How will the former warlord be judged for his crimes? Is his search for redemption in vain? Is it even possible to redeem someone like Infinite?

    Some dark themes but nothing to warrant a stronger rating. Author is not a lawyer, this fic is not legal advice.
