While already dealing with a faulty Sheikah Slate that’s been using him as a powerhouse since the Sheikah Towers sunk back into the earth, Link has been waking up in a trance-like state in the middle of the night.
A tugging sensation pulls him to the West of Hyrule, prompting him to discover what greater purpose lies beyond his completed heroics. Here, a voice tells him to ‘join them’… but who?
And when he does find them, how is he supposed to easily move with their already established dynamic as the odd man out? How is he supposed to endure such a new change in life?

Summary
The War of Eras ended suddenly. One second, Mask and Tune were fighting side by side, and the next, the monsters retreated, Cia bowed out, Ganon disappeared, and a portal appeared to take Mask and Tune home. They never even got to say goodbye to the Captain.
Years later, Time and Wind return to the exact spot they disappeared from with six more brothers by their side. Eager to reunite with the Captain, they set out to find him—but on the way, they run into a fairy fountain. And with the fairy, trapped in a bottle, is a familiar figure.
Aka Captain Link asks a Great Fairy for help with the War, and she doesn’t release him when the War is over.

Fuck. He’d said ‘alone in a room.’ That meant he was losing time, fast. Or at least context, but probably time as well.
Warriors tried not to think about being on your seventh adventure at nineteen, alone in a room you didn’t recognize, and haunted by your worst enemy. There wasn’t much else to think about.
“No one else is here,” Legend said again, and Wars could see the faint, barely noticeable shake in his hands. “You aren’t real. You aren’t fucking real.”

“Why are we still here?” one of the travelers complained later that day. “It’s been almost two weeks. Usually we’d be gone by now.”
“We haven’t accomplished our goal here,” the one with the scarf - Warriors - said with a shrug.
Wind sighed, leaning back against a tree. “What is our goal?”
Legend snorted at the question. “It’s obvious, isn’t it? We’re here to find Link.”
The others all paused, processing that, and Link froze from where he was peeking out of the scarf.
“... That… makes sense,” Four said after a moment.
“I suppose that is fairly obvious,” Sky sighed. “But surely we’d have run into him by now?”
Pressing his back against a higher fold of scarf so he wasn’t visible anymore, Link took quick, panicked breaths, keeping as quiet as possible. They were looking for him.
Or: What if Hyrule was the last one to join the Chain, and what if he wasn't in the shape of a Hylian when he did it? And what if there were a lot of tears and some hugs at the very end?

Link doesn’t know why the person is yelling about the wind and time, and he doesn’t care. Instead, he focuses on the cracking of branches underfoot and the rustling of leaves being brushed aside.

The last sound goes straight into Warriors’ head and vibrates there, tinging and ringing, till Warriors groans and shifts, trying to cover his ears with his hands. Instead, something yanks at his wrists and pulls them short with a heavy, head-pounding clank.
Warriors stills. The noises are different, but that feeling rocks through him like unsteady footing: A familiar gut-punch, just before the knife to the back.
Or, Warriors, Four, and Hyrule get captured by the Yiga Clan and have to figure out how to escape.

“Captain?” Time again, his voice much clearer than before.
“Here,” Warriors managed, breathing quickly and trying to calm his racing heart. The pain would be over soon. He would be out soon. There was no need to panic.
Warriors was panicking anyways- had been for a while. He pushed it back, keeping as much of it internal as he could. It wouldn’t do for them to see him like this. He needed to maintain a certain respectability- he was a hero, by the goddesses. He could handle a few broken bones and a small space. He could.
“Alright. We need to be careful about this, tell us if anything looks like it’s about to shift,” Time told him in a calm, even tone. The voice of a leader who had things under control.
“I will.” Warriors tried to ignore his own shame. He shouldn’t need to be more like Time, he should be a good enough leader on his own. But he wasn’t.
