Summary
Senri Tia, Warrior of Light, is used to hiding his sensitivity, harsh temperament, and past trauma behind a grin. But when his best friend's rejection burns him too deeply, he joins the expedition into the Crystal Tower. In the camp on Mor Dhona's edge, he meets a historian, who quickly takes hold of more than his heart.

Or: How good parenting would've kept the Ancients alive and well.
An unregistered series of self-aware creations all hooked up to a hive mind? In the most adorable and endearing form possible? Their only command being to share the joy of exploration and learning? This has Azem written all over it. Seriously, I'm surprised the idea of an AU where Azem created Meteion seems so rare to the point of "I can't find any others". Maybe it's because the idea of Azem is so vague and up to interpretation, you can imagine them to be any kind of person. But in my head, I see a world where Meteion was taught to put the journey before the destination, saving all mankind.
If a Meteion flaps its wings in Kugane, it causes a hurricane back in Eorzea.

Summary
Azem is reincarnated, with most of his memories intact, during the rise of the Garlean Empire. Confused and ignorant to the state of the world, he is swept up by the Imperial Army's mandatory conscription just as their aggressive campaign of expansion kicks into high gear.

Summary

It should go without saying that there will certainly be Endwalker spoilers in this. So if you haven't finished that expansion (or at the very least haven't finished the 86-87 zone) then you probably shouldn't read this until you've done so :)
Also, I want to give a shout-out to those on the Average Hythlodaeus Enjoyers Discord! If not for them, all the silly stories I tell myself would have just remained in my head!
As a final note: Going forward, I will be cross-posting entries from writing challenges and such for those who only want to read about these three, from this era, specifically. I will note this on those entries.
