The Jackson mountains were certainly not to be trifled with. While their monstrous peaks and vast bodies offered the people of Jackson protection, the weather in the area was almost just as destructive as the very fungal creatures they needed security from. The leaves had begun their descent from the trees months ago, bringing about nippy air and harsh breezes. The first few flurries of the winter season had graced the settlement several weeks before. However, Jackson was nothing more than a treacherous white wasteland as the first snow storm raged its way through.
