It’s been a year since they left Wild.
It’s been six years and four months since Wild had last seen his brothers. Wild had counted the days, tallying them on the tree next to his house, until his life is flipped upside down when his adventure started. Time seemed to slow down and speed up, days turning into nights as he worked to find Flora, but never did the back of his mind leave the topic of his brothers… and now that he has them back, he makes no means to ever let them get hurt again.
(Or: Wild gets double cursed and doesn’t tell anyone. Nobody is happy about this)

"Just, shut up." He was quickly interrupted by Legend's harsh voice who turned to glare at him murderously as he pointed a finger at him. The others fell silent at his tone, looking at the pink-haired boy in a strange way. He breathed heavily, baring his teeth. "Wild, shut the fuck up."
Time held up his hand to calm him down. “Legend please-”
"No. Time, do not dare. I'm gonna lose my shit here, I-" The Veteran choked slightly before taking a shaky breath, staring Wild straight in the eye. "You. Do you really think we give a fuck about the mission Hylia put us on!? And about you? Wild, you-” He sputtered heavily.
“Do we need to remind you that, your first quest fucking killed you?” He spat with a sort of hatred that was not directed at him. Legend was silent for a moment, letting his words hover around them in the air. No one spoke as he ran his hands over his face, wiping the sweat from his forehead at the same time and hiding his face. He spoke quietly, almost a whisper. "What's going to happen in the second one? Wild, tell me what do you think will happen on your next adventure?”
Wild does not answer.

On his lap sat Wild, who with watery eyes, stared pleadingly up towards Time.
"What is it, little one?" He bounced his leg a little, smiling when Wild laughed behind his hands.
"Bored." He mumbled petulantly, his eyebrows creasing slightly.
"Are you now?" Time huffed in endearment. It wasn't very often that Wild asked for something.
Twilight's ears perked up.
"I… I know something we can do." Twilight said, his face a deep crimson. Both looked over at the boy in surprise. "Um… If you want to, I-I mean." He began kneading his fingers on his lap.
Wild looked up again at Time, this time expectantly. "Okay." The boy's voice was barely over a whisper, hidden behind the sleeve he began to chew.

Now, with the Triforce on the back of his hand and the markings inked onto his face, he has no idea who he is. Light dweller, but with too much Twili magic in his bones. Twili, but with too much affinity for the Light. He’s caught between both worlds and yet stuck in one, the mirror gone and shattered and leaving him alone with this hole in his chest.
He’s scared it will never go away, that he won’t ever be able to fit into the realm that was once his. He’s scared it will go away, and he’ll forget about those midnight-tinged skies and the way he connected with them.
“Do you feel like ya have’ta choose?” Twilight asks softly, fixing his gaze on Hyrule’s face. “Hylians or fae, I mean?”

Behind them, he heard the sizzle of Yiga soldiers beginning to teleport.
Fine then.
Twilight stood, unsteady and almost definitely feverish, between Wild and the massing Yiga. He held the windcleaver in one hand and Wild’s sickle in the other. If he couldn’t get them out, then he could at the least defend his brother.

And now, it seems as if the mask is cracking and his fury is slipping away.

Summary
Hylia is seen as this wonderful kind goddess who would never do anything evil.
But this is reality and not a kind universe, where she truly only cares about two things, curing her endless boredom and playing her games, yet there are very few beings who are aware of the goddess's true nature, especially considering not even the great Deku tree remembers the truth.
Being an ancient god of death Malanya has always been fully aware of Hylia's true nature ever since their first meeting, so for the sake of his naive sisters and the safety of his defenseless eldritch children, the horse god cannot afford to be kind any longer nor can he forget the truth no matter how many times Hylia tries to erase his memories.
The newly arrived chain of past heroes are not aware of Hylia's games nor her interferences in their lives, hopefully, the group learns quickly that in this era of forests and malice that this Hyrule has very little to hide as hiding the truth always leads to death here.
Malanya grimly wonders what game Hylia is playing now or how her game is going to affect the two children under his care and protection.
