Summary
Ling Yao fell to his death on the Promised Day with lingering regrets and the taste of ashes in his mouth. Summary
As of right now, this is how Kakashi sees it.
He’ll die a tragic, but heroic and completely preventable death. He’ll be mourned by few and their moms– he has quite a thing going on with the moms of Konoha– and he’ll be able to beg the two friends he killed for forgiveness. Or, he can go along with the whims of this weak random girl and do insane things like take a break, eat on time, sleep everyday, and talk to someone.
As of right now, Shisui will either shine brighter than any star in the night sky, or explode and incinerate everything around him in a catastrophic supernova. Itachi will either let the oppressive weight of his duty burn him up like kindling on a pyre, or blow up with Shisui, or grow a spine, or something.
As of right now, Genma and Tenzo watch them orbit on the sidelines. Amaya “weak random girl” Fujiwara finds what it means to stand for what you believe in, Minato reaches out, silver spinning in clear blue eyes, and Naruto lays next to Sasuke wishing their stupid parents didn’t have to be so annoying.
On some distant moon, Kakashi figures that everything might turn out okay if he stops being a hipster emo freak about it.

Summary
This series is a work of fiction. While that may seem obvious; since it is intended to portray otherwise, I felt it best to clarify here.
It is written as the factual memoirs of CT (Chew Toy), an OC who has been repeatedly reincarnated with all of zir memories intact, upon finding zemself back in zir original universe; offering a plausible cause and intended to be realistic enough to hopefully be believable. (It starts as a Self Insert but ze grows into a very different person over time and repeated reincarnations, so I feel comfortable calling zir an OC rather than an SI.)
The statement in the prologue that ze's unlikely to finish zir memoirs in this lifetime and might take them up again in another is actually an opening for any other writers interested in adding to this saga to write their own, while keeping continuity with the series as a whole. It gives an explanation for the variations in character and different authors between different stories, while keeping up a pretense of realism. I'm honestly hoping that the memoirs could become a sort of AO3-wide community project, spanning across any and all fandoms and featuring a variety of characters.

Summary
Uzushiogakure is more than a ruin. Her people wander and they hide themselves away, refusing to be who they once were. Uzushio sees this and she refuses to let the world stay that way. Uzushiogakure may have fallen, but Uzushio is far from dead.
Meanwhile, Konoha kills off almost all of the Uchiha Clan, leaving two - Sasuke Uchiha and Toru Uchiha. Sasuke's survival was meant to happen. Toru's survival was due to luck, (and something more, something much, much bigger than luck).
The world is not safe or nice or good. It hasn't been such for a while. That's alright though. Toru can make things happen with his own two hands and his words. He can change his world, even if it isn't the entire world. Toru doesn't like the whole world that much anyway.

Bird wakes up groggily to the unmistakable sound of the little hound scarfing down something squelchy. He wrinkles his nose at the matted silver hair brushing his jaw as he sits up, blinking blearily at Hatake’s hunched figure straddling his chest, clawed hands smeared with old blood as the preteen looks up at his unimpressed glare with wide eyes.
“Bird’s off-limits,” Hatake huffs around a mouthful of Bird’s dog treats. “Don’t like the shocker, no thank you. Treats are good, though. Hound likes treats.”
“I’ll bet Hound does,” Bird grumbles, wriggling out from under Hatake’s stick-thin frame, wincing as the movement pulls at the burn on his back.
Hound whines from his place sprawled in the underbrush, licking his chops and staring greedily at Bird’s pack.
“Hound is still hungry,” Hatake murmurs, eyes fixed on the pack, and Bird narrows his eyes, dragging the pack a little closer.
