100 years ago they lost. Link died surrounded by light and tears; from Princess Zelda and the clouds above. A century later and everything was gone, but he had a second chance at the cost of everything.
The shrine brought him back. It brought him away from the exhausting darkness and back to the light. The shrine hoped to keep the hero here till the darkness is slain, at the cost of his humanity.

---Link catches Zelda in a hug, arms catching the sweet spot of bare back between her top and bottoms. She curls into his chest, hands cupped between them. Once her body feels like it catches up with the momentum, the princess gives him a quick glance, eyes rolled up to see him.
"Look at this," she mutters, inviting him in.
Their foreheads press together, and together they investigate the dark space between their chests.

Rejected by monsters and humans alike, he struggles to find a way to free himself while trying to save people that treat him like the monster he appears to be. And for the Gorons, this means giving him a massage meant for tough Goron bodies, not scrawny Hylian ones.
