He couldn’t just let her be sent to her death. Of course he couldn’t. That was his sister. He needed her. He couldn’t survive without her, he knew that. There would be no point to his existence.

The escort had already flitted back to the bowl, fingers dipping into the slips of paper like the whole thing was just a game at a party. Maybe to her, it was. To her, this was all just a story to chirp out in her annoying high-pitched voice over a dinner table to her friends. To her, the most important part of this was status, not survival.

Nagi’s legs locked stiff where he stood. He couldn’t even look at the boy’s section of the crowd. He couldn’t look at Kunigami’s old friends or the boys who had grown into their shiny new roles as Careers. He could only watch Chigiri, her back straight, her braid catching the light.

    Summary

196 years in, and the Hunger Games have never been more popular, at least in the ratings that matter. With entire dynasties of victors, record breaking performances, and the most unique and exciting arenas ever, the Capitol spends every summer enthralled. Victors stand at the height of celebrity, beholden to the whims of the public. The districts are left to live with the Games however they can.

A career dreams of being a hero and champion for his district. A legacy must survive the consequences for the decisions of victors who came before her. A caretaker cannot allow her dying mother or loving girlfriend to see her give up. A victor is tasked with keeping his first tribute alive while still learning to cope with his own survival.

24 tributes will enter the arena. 24 mentors will guide them. 24 families will watch and hope they come home. In the end, only one can survive.

This is not an NSFW fic, but it does deal with mature themes surrounding the way those in the spotlight are abused.

    Summary

A series of fics surrounding my elaborate history of Panem that covers every single Hunger Games and their impact, the impact of the First and Second Rebellions, on our heroes. All unnamed Hunger Games victors are described with a few details, particularly how they dealt with the trauma of the arena and how the districts preserved faith, culture, and traditions under the iron jackboots of the Capitol.

Gloss looks like his father, except for the hair. That's where the similarities end.

With fighter's blood running through his body, he's certain he'll win the Games. What he doesn't know (or remember) is that he's more similar to his father than he thought.

It's chaos in the arena. And Gloss really doesn't like what he sees.

    Summary

Tributes, victors, mentors, people who love them. Their lives, their deaths; who remembers, who doesn't.

Character exploration, missing scenes and backstory for canon and original characters: how the District 2 Career Centre makes its tributes, how they win their Games and how their mentors put them back together. How some rebel, some don't and some never get the chance.

We grew up in golden light
Every chance to get it right
What did we do with it?

It’s gone, what I had back then is gone
    Can’t get it back again

Sorry for the things we should have done
Sorry for the kids we pushed too far
Sorry now for all the lonely hearts who can’t move on because

    We waited

For love, for dreams in the night
For days to come when we’d be all right
I can’t remember why I did the things I did
    I was just a kid

All the lines we knew back then, they now are faded
All the laws we once obeyed, they have betrayed us
People that I used to hate, I hardly remember
Forgive the children we once were

    Summary

Every year, the Capitol makes it seem like there's only one perspective to the Games - that of the Victor - but that's far from the truth. This year, 36 tributes will enter the Arena, and each one has a different perspective of the Games.

Every tribute has something different to prove. Will Soren, the brother of last year's Victor, overcome the odds to see his family again? Will Carlo and Seffie, two District 5 teens on the verge of love, sort out their feelings before it's too late? Can Victoria, a Career from District 1, prove herself and redeem her family's public image?

36 tributes will enter the Arena in one week. Some will fall in love, some will be betrayed by those closest to them, and in the end, almost all will die.

Cashmere has always lived in the shadow of her brother, Gloss. He secured his first kill, entered the Games, and won, all before she even had a chance to step into the spotlight. But Cashmere possesses something he doesn’t—something more powerful than any weapon or title: her beauty. She's a siren, captivating and irresistible, and for years, she's been caught in the snare of others' expectations and desires. But now, she's done being overlooked. This time, she’s not just waiting to be seen—she’s ready to fight, and she's prepared to make them all regret underestimating her.

    Summary

Taking place many years after canon in an alternate universe in which there was no second rebellion, this series focuses on original characters (mainly victors) in an exploration of the world of Panem.

Each story can be read on its own, or as part of the series. The exception is "What Came Next" which is a direct sequel to "The Year After."

I ran out of room in this series description to include all the information I wanted (such as the preferred reading order, if you were interested in reading the entire thing), so I made a separate "work" to house information about this series:

    Summary

Alma Coin's dictatorial tendencies don't go unnoticed by everyone; over the years, a faction splits from her rebellion and seeds itself through the districts. They have no resources, weapons, or strongholds, but they do have eyes and ears. And so they infiltrate and gather intelligence from both sides, waiting until the time when they can save Panem from President Snow and Alma Coin.

When Brutus is pulled from the 75th Arena and accidentally resuscitated by a squad of District 2 Peacekeepers, the second resistance takes a chance. Coin considers District 2 an acceptable sacrifice -- a convenient scapegoat, full of loyalist traitors -- but after all, one man's trash is another man's treasure.

A fix-it that isn't; nothing is rosy, nothing is easy, but maybe a few lives will be saved along the way. Follows canon through the Quarter Quell and diverges at "A District Upside Down".
