    The table Bilbo was escorted to was sized for dwarves, which meant he had no problem at all fitting into the chairs. It was Elrond and Celebrimbor – though not so much the latter since he was smaller than the average elf – that had more problems. Lobelia and Celebrían had been swept up with Lady Disa – “No need to call me Queen, dear, there are a pile of us here, just Disa, or Lady Disa if you like” – at the head table where all the other ladies seem to have congregated. That was a worry all in and of itself right there.

Idril helped Finrod with Aegnor, so that neither of them fell to the floor of the carriage. Erestor was quick behind Galadriel as she opened the door and stepped out, watching with wide eyes as the very hills about them seemed to crack open and spill out rank upon rank of Men in armor that was Ages old.

    Or, in an alternate timeline from ROP, Elrond and Galadriel are sent to Khazad-dum to sign a treaty between Gil-galad and Durin III - and to attend the wedding of Prince Durin and Disa. Galadriel wants dwarvish-style braids as a sign of respect, but while braiding her hair, Elrond's thoughts focus more on his romantic feelings.

He used to say that even a single strand of her hair held so much light it could brighten any room.

    What would he think of her now? He, who worshipped that light. He, who believed not even the Valar could compare to her. So sacrilegious he was. Galadriel adored him for that. She should not, but she did. She had. She did still, even more than a millennium after his death.

    His death at Sauron's hands.

    During the forging of the rings another enemy emerges, an old, familiar demon that haunts Elrond alone. His fear of failure leads him down a dark path and, though it is one he has walked before, he finds it no less difficult to find his way back a second time.

    'It was when they began forging the rings that he realized something was wrong.
    The problem was, he could not identify why.
    They slaved day and night over the rings. It was going well, very well, better than he could have dreamed. Elrond feels hopeful that they have done it, that he has not failed.
    So why can he not bring himself to eat?'

    Or, Elrond has an eating disorder and Galadriel and Gil-galad are worried.
