Frye lives a comfortably lonely life by herself, dangerous, reckless, she lives happy and true to herself at school, playing the happy delinquent villain as she's good at playing. However she's ever conscious of the fins that cut the water by her. A shark of pure elegance and grace and awful primness that makes her want to roll her eyes into her skull.
It's not until the day she catches Shiver Hohojiro with their mask finally discarded that she asks of them of one thing;

Summary
The birds were chirping, the sun was shining and the smell of laughter, arguing and engine oil filled the air. There was a start of ignition and the steady hum of an engine flared out.
“Are we all ready to go?” Marie shouted as she shut the door of the toyoster cruiser. Deep Cut chorused an affirmative, while Marie squinted at their car. Its peeling paint job, hanging mirrors and missing doors. She averted her gaze and looked towards Off the Hook and their Sea Rover.
Marina and Eight were taking very little with them, a keytar and backpack for Marina and a black duffle bag for Eight. The rest of their car boot was filled with pink suitcases that Pearl was trying to jam in with Eight. After Marie’s call, Marina climbed out and made them step aside. She slammed the door down and it finally clicked into place. She looked over and gave a thumbs up.
Marie still couldn’t understand why they were doing a road trip.
Literally anything else would’ve been faster. They could’ve taken the train, or a tour bus or even super jumped, but no. They were going to be driving.

Shiver just got a new job after being fired of her last one for “scaring costumers away” or whatever that means. Now she’s stuck in a job she hates, but after meeting a certain someone they start to thinking that maybe it’s not so bad after all.

In the early beginnings of Deep Cut, Shiver reaches out to Marina of the pop sensation duo Off The Hook in hopes of an endorsement and possible segment on the Inkopolis News. Eager to help out small artists, Marina agrees. Just before the trio makes the long trek to Inkopolis to visit the band, Shiver discovers a secret. Their best friend and partner in crime, Frye, had dated half of the duo in college.
Shiver determines to unwravel the long history between their friend and the idol before they can meet.Simultaneously, Frye has just finished her senior year of highschool. She's been accepted for an internship in the big city of Inkopolis over the summer, and she's eager to get away from her small town, her overbearing parents, and her distant friendship with her once close friend Shiver, and she's ready to live a little.
