They take apart the dummies together, mech fists and bullet sprays and slices of the broadsword, working in automatic tandem, and are left with a room full of sparking metal corpses, Cage’s breathing even and unhurried. After killing the Alpha mimic in the first wave of attacks on the beach, Sergeant MacTavish is soaked in its blood and has to live the same day over and over again until he can find a way to defeat the enemy. He seeks the help of the Ghost of Verdun, the masked hero involved in the stunning victory the last time the mimics attacked. The Ghost is able to get him so far, but they meet a point where he never progresses. It’s hard to start afresh with someone as cautious and unfriendly as Simon is. To go from something more, to less than strangers, is exhausting. But he’ll keep trying.
Basically that one scene in Edge of Tomorrow but make it SoapGhost. This is to accompany fanart I did of this scene over on twitter/tumblr! Will link it when it's finished :)
