“Operation Downfall is going to be the largest mechanized invasion in the history of human kind.” Sirius’ own voice rings through his head. But those are Dumbledore’s words put in the mouth of the proud, cocky militia-man character that Sirius was hired to play.
Dumbledore’s high and mighty “protector of the human race” act is real, and that’s honestly so much worse than the alternative because Sirius knows the man hasn’t seen a second of combat in his entire life.
He’s a tactical politician. A wolf in army green.
But Albus Dumbledore is a military by lineage, and names carry power. That’s why Dumbledore has no love for Sirius, whose family name is the only one stronger than his own.

His legs twitched feebly, little sparks of electricity and anguish arching out from the remnants of his spine to his drenched and over-hot crotch, his pathetic animal brain keening desperately as it lost the fight against death, comprehension sliding out the dripping ache on the back of his skull. It’s just not supposed to withstand this much pain, can’t bear witness to this much of something so impossible to comprehend. He used to feel nauseous at a paper cut. He can feel his cock stirring in his pants, what little blood left in him making one last ditch attempt at hardness and failing miserably, but it didn’t dull the feeling at all.

It was over. The Mimics were dead. He had won. He had fought his body then, the same as he had fought the Alpha, all oxygen having gone from his lungs. His mouth gasped open, lungs filled with water. Eyes open past the bubbling pain, like thousands of needles settled within his chest. He let his eyes drift closed, the blood circling his arms, crawling up his face, over his mouth. His lips set into a satisfied smile as his body had drifted numb, his eyes closing. Distantly, he felt the blood enter his mouth, over his nose, and finally into his eyes. His eyes shot open, the blood painting his sclera black as it sought to cover every inch of him, to wrap him in its embrace, lower him down into the watery tomb.
And then, he had gasped awake. Lungs filled with air, free of smoke, and the buzzing of helicopter blades around him.Or, a look into what really happened after he woke up for the last time on the edge of tomorrow.

Cage learns the real reason Rita is the Angel of Verdun.
Cage isn’t religious, but he read the Bible once. Angels are God’s Warriors, and they are as beautiful as they are merciless. In war, in love, they do the things that no one else has the strength to do.
When she steps out of the ruined drop ship, she doesn’t wear a mask. Her hair is tied back in a braid tight against her head, and she is ephemeral and deadly, blade whistling through the air to mow down everything in her path. She moves so gracefully that it looks like she is flying over the sand.

Summary
After killing the Alpha mimic in the first wave of attacks on the beach, Sergeant MacTavish is soaked in its blood and has to live the same day over and over again until he can find a way to defeat the enemy. He seeks the help of the Ghost of Verdun, the masked hero involved in the stunning victory the last time the mimics attacked. The Ghost is able to get him so far, but they meet a point where he never progresses. It’s hard to start afresh with someone as cautious and unfriendly as Simon is. To go from something more, to less than strangers, is exhausting. But he’ll keep trying.
Basically that one scene in Edge of Tomorrow but make it SoapGhost. This is to accompany fanart I did of this scene over on twitter/tumblr! Will link it when it's finished :)

“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” says Rita. They’re training, back-to-back, against the robot mimics, and she hears him huff, soft and amused. They take apart the dummies together, mech fists and bullet sprays and slices of the broadsword, working in automatic tandem, and are left with a room full of sparking metal corpses, Cage’s breathing even and unhurried. She can feel him behind her, like an extra limb. He doesn’t bring it up again.Rita tries to scratch an itch.
