Ten months after the Battle of Crait, the Last Jedi and the Supreme Leader of the First Order have kept their bond tightly shut, allowing the seeds of their mutual rejection to blossom into hurt and anger. When the location of the Resistance base is revealed, Rey must make the ultimate sacrifice: the lives of her allies and friends, in exchange for yielding her freedom to the First Order, indefinitely.
But new threats soon lead to the discovery that Rey cannot draw lines between the Dark and the Light as easily as she once thought, and blur the boundaries between hatred, lust, and—eventually—a deeper bond than neither she nor Kylo Ren could have ever conceived of.

A challenge. He was tired. Too tired to argue. But there was something irresistible about her, that drew him like a moth to a naked flame.
“Go on.” He said. "Do it."
Rey looked at him and took a step forward. The saber shook in her hands. She began to swing the weapon towards him and the breath left his lungs. She really meant to kill him.

Supreme Leader Snoke has ordered Kylo Ren to capture Rey and bring her to him. Conflicted, Ren fears that Snoke may replace him and is also unnerved by Rey's growing power and her ability to spark new and dangerous emotions within him. Meanwhile, Rey questions the darkness within her and tries to figure out what destiny the force has set out for her. Slow Burn.

Kylo licks his lips and tracks the length of tan, smooth skin leading up to her round ass sitting above the grill like a cupcake on a platter. Then she’s quickly back up to standing, whipping long, brown hair over her shoulder to reveal a gorgeous face cinched tight in anger.
He’s absolutely mesmerized.

In her head, Rey calculated how short she was on funds to pay her bills. Her sandwich bag clutched tight, she was so damn hungry. Her budget was ridiculous. Her meager tips tonight were definitely because of the shitty weather. With Christmas coming she hoped she’d get more. Generosity and joy of the season...? She hasn’t seen much. Blocks later she almost tripped over a lump on the edge of an alley near Maz’s Bar. The lump groaned, but nothing else. Rey knelt down. The man was filthy and smelled like a brewery. His cheeks sweaty and red, hands cold. His nice clothes looked torn, dirty, he had a bloodied nose. Goodwill specials maybe. But no coat? Rey sighed. He was worse off than her. She tucked her tip money in his pocket and her sandwich bag at his hands. The quilt laid over him. She smiled. Crackers and mustard for dinner it was. “Merry Christmas...” she whispered.
