      no but seriously, aside from the incredible writing, i really love how respectful this fic was yk??? like, a lot of the times when i come across religious fics like this, the main emphasis is on internalized homophobia, which I DONT HAVE A PROBLEM WITH AT ALL! internalized homophobia is one of my favorite tropes, actually. but heres the thing; God doesnt actually condemn homosexuality! now, i dont really feel like going on a tangent about being a follower of Christ and being homosexual, in fact Jesus's teachings, actions and beliefs are actually a lot more radical and progressive than people make it out to be, but its essentially just as izuku said; “and I believe it’s not a sin to love – I do. We are all of us children of God, and I do not think He would punish me for my… differences.”
      i feel like the conflict lies more on how their innate fondness for each other is impacting their relationship with God. dont get me wrong there are DEFINITLEY themes of internalized homophobia but the way its portrayed in this fic is super refreshing to see, since i'm pretty used to seeing fics that have somewhat blasphemous undertones, which arent usually that bad and i understand what message theyre trying to convey, but i like how this fic doesnt bring down or criticize other religions and instead uses it as a point of conflict in a relationship *RESPECTFULLY*, which is really neat!!! i feel like the only reason why it may come off as a little iffy by other people is because of the mere concept of pope izuku and cardinal katsuki but, hey, it *is* a crackfic, so...

      anhways yeah reallt good fic sorry for the lil theology rant there
