Essentially a combination rewrite and sequel to my earlier work, Siren Song!
Merlin and Arthur set out on a voyage to hunt down a siren that has been terrorizing a neighboring kingdom. They discover that they are the only ones unaffected by the siren’s song, causing a medley of chaos, self doubt, and confusion; all things must come to light in the end.

Summary
Merlin exhales a soft laugh, hoarse and relieved all at once. He shakes his head before brushing his lips over Arthur’s once more, then trails them over his cheek to his ear. “Then let me take care of you?” he asks again, and another shiver travels down his back.
“Please,” he presses out, his voice cracking over the word and closer to a plea than he has ever heard it. He doesn’t have it within himself to care, has never been more certain in the conviction that Merlin will take all the brittle pieces of him and still find worth in them.
The crown weighs heavy on his head, well-known self-doubts taking their toll. Arthur would never expect Merlin to shoulder some of the burden, but then, Merlin has never been one for doing what's expected of him.

“Camelot needs you.”
Sometimes, Merlin’s steadfastness can be admirable. At this moment, though, Arthur rather feels like throwing something.
“Camelot needs you too, you idiot,” Arthur snaps.
“I’m just a—“
“If you finish that sentence, gods help me—“ Arthur points a threatening finger. “I thought I had made it quite clear. How many times do I need to repeat it to get it through your thick skull?”“Never said it once, actually,” mutters Merlin, rather insolently.
“No, fairly sure I have,” Arthur insists. “If you weren’t listening, that’s your problem.”

“How ‘bout you? How did you get your place in the sky?”
“Through my irresistible charm and unique talents, of course.”
“…You sit in a tavern drinking and flirting all day.”
“Nah you see, that’s where you’re wrong. I’m observing. Observing and fishing.”, emphasising the last word by having his eyes glued to a passing woman’s breasts.
“You…observing?”
“Yep.”, grinning slyly he lifted his jug, “Who do you think pays for all this?”

“Do you enjoy this? Killing people?”
“Yes. Does that make me a monster?”
“…”
“I’ve always been a monster in other peoples eyes. Now I simply chose to embrace it.”
Stepping closer, lifting his lovers jaw and looking deep into his eyes he stated, “You could never hate me, could you.”
In short, Merlin is killing people left and right, protecting Arthur and gathering allies. He started enjoying it too, a quality that was surely fired on by the personality traits of a dragon manifesting.
Enjoy Merlin going berserk with him and Arthur fucking in between in differently detailed scenes and ways (including flashbacks of the first time etc). Morgana and Merlin as a magical bamf duo happens as an act of revenge at the end. -

Summary
When Arthur decides that he should humor his Council and at least make an effort in finding a bride, he enlists the help of Morgana. Her solution? A list of questions about Arthur's favorite things: if one of his possible matches could answer them, well, that would mean he had a chance at happiness with them, right?
At first, Arthur thinks it's a ridiculous idea.
Then he discovers that Merlin, who has no idea what the questions are for, somehow knows all the answers

Merlin has waited for three long years for this exact opportunity. During a battle against the near-mythical Barbarian King Arthur, Cenred has Merlin's manacles removed so he can fight. They come together in a deep dark mist, fade in and out of each other, before collapsing into their final shape. Aithusa comes screeching from the shadowy hell plane she inhabits and lands with a heavy thud at his side. She nuzzles his hip as she always does.
Cenred’s smug smirk drops like a stone and he stumbles backwards to try to put some distance, “Let’s be reasonable here. Surely there is something I can give you…”
“You should have thought of that before you threatened my family.”
He whistles sharply. Aithusa lunges. Cenred’s’ head separates from his body with a sickening crunch.

“You’re doing an amazing thing here,” Lancelot said apropos of nothing as he handed Merlin a nail.
“It’s hardly amazing,” Merlin scoffed, concentrating on fixing the wooden beam in place. “I used to fix my mother’s roof all the time when I was little.”
“I mean here.” Lancelot gestured back to the house. “These children would have nowhere to go if you didn’t take them in.”
“Oh I don’t really do much,” Merlin said with a wave of his hand. “I just pop by every now and then to say hello. Mary does all the work.”
Merlin concentrated back on the roof. Anything not to look into Lancelot’s proud and warm eyes.He couldn’t explain to wonderful, pure Lancelot why he didn’t deserve any praise. Taking in these children, helping them to grow up safe and fed, it was the least he could do after all the destruction he had caused in Camelot.

Summary
Arthur always knew that it would be over.
The funny feelings. Stolen kisses in the throne room. Hungry looks at each other. He knew that they were too good to last, good things wouldn’t happen to him. But he was lost in an illusion where he felt loved. He didn’t want to leave that illusion; he only wanted to feel the kisses, the caring touches for a bit longer.
That was what he thought when he caught Merlin using magic. No, no. That would be a lie. The first thing he thought was that Merlin was so beautiful with these golden eyes. How beautiful and cruel.
“I would never hurt you. I never hurt you.”
His voice was shaky, full of emotions. Was there love in that voice, Arthur thought, or was that another lie?
