He decided that this phenomenon would only be solvable with the aid of visual investigation, and reluctantly slitted open his eyes, blinking when all that he saw was the colour red.
“Sire,” Alastor mumbled, his voice still drowsy and laden with a static-rumble. “Why are your wings out?”

It’s not well known that Charlie had a friend in England. He’d met Richard Granger when the man was touring the states back in college. The two men hit it off one evening and traded phone numbers. They managed to keep in touch through the years with semi-frequent phone calls, letters and even the occasional visit.
Nothing could’ve prepared Charlie for the call that would inform him Richard and Helen had beaten their teenage daughter within an inch of her life and been arrested. Since the Grangers had no living relatives, the couple listed Charlie as Hermione’s legal guardian. At fifteen years old, Hermione moves across the world to live with the man she barely knows.
Life turns around quickly with the help of a few kind boys from the reservation. When Charlie’s daughter, Bella, moves home everything goes to crap. Between the vampires, shape-shifters and Bella’s apparent desire to crush her father’s heart Hermione does everything she can to keep the peace.

Charlie finally gets the daughter he deserves from an abused teenage girl and Hermione gets the caring parental figure she deserves from a lonely police chief. They find their futures together with the help of the La Push pack.

If Alastor had been paying any attention to the film Vox had selected, he might have thought the premise rather ridiculous.
Though a 'flux capacitor' did sound like something Vox himself would come up with, so he supposed he could forgive the other man's fascination with the movie.
As it was, the film was little more than background noise to the symphony of his own thoughts, his hooves tucked up onto the couch and Vox's arm slung over his shoulders. His head was nestled comfortably under Vox's screen, the hum and whirr of his fans occasionally blowing out a burst of air that made one of Alastor's ears flick. He watched the television with half-lidded eyes, idly running a claw up and down the fabric stretched over Vox's thigh.
