Summary
It's almost the Iacon 5000. Everyone is preparing for the competition, but Chromia intends to put them all to shame by being first to cross the finish line. But then...everything changes. In a sudden turn of events, ex-miners Orion Pax and D-16 become a Prime and a ruthless warlord respectively, upheaving Chromia's entire life. It's not just a matter of racing anymore, it's a matter of survival.
Meanwhile, Ironhide, one of the new Prime's first recruits, has at last gained his t-cog. He vows to himself to use it well and to never, EVER betray his comrades like Sentinel Prime and the other nobles had done. So imagine his surprise when he is suddenly suspected of a conspiracy against his own commander and friend, Optimus Prime.
But he isn't suspected by EVERYONE. He finds unexpected allies in two mechs named Ratchet and Prowl. And when Chromia finds herself roped into the situation as well, she sets aside her differences with the Autobots in an attempt to win her old life back.
Chromia has always taken her cog for granted. Ironhide wouldn't part with his for the world.
But maybe, despite their differences, they're more similar than meets the eye...

They stood face to face in the middle of a clearing. The dim light of the moon barely allowed Sherlock to see the glassy terror in John’s eyes and the sweat that glistened off his forehead. His nose was bleeding again, blood dripping in a slow stream from his right nostril.
They were both gasping for air, John’s eyes locked on Sherlock’s. There was no recognition there, just wild animal fear.
Time stood still for an eternal few seconds, and Sherlock took a shaky breath. “John—”
Spell broken, John spun and bolted back into the woods.
Still heaving for air, Sherlock took off after him.

Summary
Nodus Tollens: the realization that the plot of your life doesn't make sense to you anymore.
Set Post TRF.
After Sherlock's "suicide," John's therapist recommends that he write letters to Sherlock to try to process and move through his grief. Naturally, John is...skeptical. Simultaneously, Sherlock is writing letters to John (sent to a secret PO Box set up by Molly) in an attempt to get out everything he's never said in case he dies while dismantling Moriarty's criminal network overseas. As John's emotional state gets worse, Sherlock decides it's time to come home and try to take care of him. Unfortunately, this ends up revealing Sherlock's fake suicide and ends up putting everyone in danger.Please read all the tags! Lots of painful emotions, mental health and addiction issues, graphic violence, cursing, etc. There will be a happy ending, but it will take a while to get there.
