Summary
Shiro opens his eyes when the hard fall he’d braced for doesn’t come to pass. Above him looms the rustle of wet leaves and dripping rain and a pale, handsome face.
“You—” Shiro stops short, transfixed by a pair of dark but distinctly human eyes, their purple irises bordered by a faintly yellowed sclera. His gaze darts higher, to the pointed, fur-tufted ears jutting up from a mane of black hair. “You’re… it’s you. You’re the one who’s been following me.”
“Keith,” the man offers, voice burning low.
Shiro softens, sagging against the body that grips him. “Keith.”

Shiro freezes and sees Keith do the same out of the corner of his eye. There’s no way… he’s… the Garrison pronounced him dead, killed in action. Shiro had mourned him.
“Adam?” Shiro croaks out, all but pushing Trit out of the way. The man sitting at the desk goes absolutely still. He’s dressed in an unfamiliar uniform and a burn scar crawls up his left cheek to an out-of-commission eye and his previously everpresent glasses are nowhere to be seen, but Shiro would recognize him anywhere.
Somehow, Adam is here in this forgotten prison on the edge of known space. Somehow he’s alive.
Shiro and Keith find Adam on a backwater prison moon a couple years after the war on a Blades mission. Feelings start to bloom between the three of them as they get to know each other again and their lives become increasingly intertwined.Series

"Kerberos... Is that when you came to space?"
It was a little odd, talking in the dark. Shiro couldn't see Keith at all, couldn't see much of anything in the pitch black of the room. It was comforting.
He could pretend that things were different, that Keith was his new boyfriend and he was sleeping over at his place. He could pretend that they were safely back on Earth, that Keith was human and that Shiro had never been modified or forced to kill to survive.
"Yeah, It was going to be the furthest any human had ever gone into space. I was chosen to pilot the mission. It was... It was everything I'd worked for, everything I'd always wanted." Shiro confessed, unable to keep his voice from wavering.
"But then we took you." Keith said quietly, sadness lowering his voice. "Shiro, I'm- I'm not sorry you're here, but I'm sorry you got hurt on your way here. I'm sorry I hurt you, when I promised you I wouldn't."

Zarkon has been dead for thousands of years and the Blade of Marmora control the Galran League. Keith is the Heir to the throne, and when a certain arena Champion catches his eye, Kolivan decides to gift the human to him.

His eyes fly wide and he surges back, at least as far as Shiro lets him get in the unbudging circle of his arms. “I’m so sorry, I didn’t mean—”

Slowly, Keith nods. Shiro isn’t mad at him. He’s not disgusted.
