Evelyn doesn’t hate Templars on principle, but it's ridiculous that this one has her feeling like a lovesick trainee, despite her being the only hope Thedas has of closing the breach and stopping a would-be god from destroying all they know. Cullen, on the other hand, can't understand how a mage of a fallen circle can be so kind to him when he doesn't know how to be kind to himself.
Courtship would be far easier if it wasn't for the small matter of saving the world.

As cliche' as it sounds, I woke up one morning with an image in my head: Alistair standing behind a bar, flirting shamelessly with a handsome, blonde, curly-haired detective. (Guess who?) Since the image couldn't be captured properly with the stick-figures that I am so adept at drawing, I decided to put pen to paper and run with this idea.

They work together to find Anders, in the dregs of a ruined old Chantry in the middle of nowhere, but, as it always is when it's important, they're too late, and what they find is a tortured and starved to death corpse, the Tranquil brand in its forehead, in a room of dead Templars. Or so they think. But Anders clings to life and the Rite of Tranquility had failed, and they have to work together to heal the healer, while Fenris tries to figure out what to do about the one night they spent together, before Fenris' memories had driven them apart.

Later Chapters lead into what Veilguard's secret ending was alluding to and will feature all of the main protagonists from across the Dragon Age Series of games as well as some of the main supporting cast.
