After just about surviving 'Urban Pleasures', Arthur brings Charles to meet Eagle Flies for the second part of the Chapter 4 mission, 'American Fathers'.

‘Papa’ Bronte had given Jack two pairs of slippers. A toy box, a library of books. The road to Shady Belle rumbles with the warning growl of alligators, the city smog drifting far across the river, and Arthur has to wonder if they have actually rescued him at all.
Spanning 'The Joys of Civilisation' and 'Angelo Bronte, Man of Honour', plus the stranger mission 'Help a Brother Out', Arthur is introduced to the wonders of Saint Denis, and Jack is returned home.

The heat smacks like a punch. Adjusting his neckerchief over his nose, Arthur takes in the length of the road, disappearing into a red haze some hundred yards ahead. A peculiar, suggestive heaviness seems to linger, trapping the swooning stores, the hotel with its wrought balconies and flower baskets, the picket-fenced houses, in a sweet, oozing calm, as if they’ve been preserved in amber, sepia-toned and motionless.

He flinches back. Footsteps clatter behind him, skidding on the rock. He turns, and the butt of a rifle smashes into his head.Set during and after 'Blessed Are The Peacemakers' in Chapter 3, a bid to parley with the O'Driscolls goes disastrously wrong. Charles takes it upon himself to find Arthur and bring him home before he succumbs to days of torture and imprisonment.

“We should...get out on a real trip soon,” Arthur says, low in his voice, still unsure, hesitant, resting his forehead against Charles’ when he straightens back up. Charles’ eyelashes flicker, thick black like the perfectly painted eyes of ancient Egyptian frescoes, lined with kohl, and such a rich liquid brown beneath, like drops of coffee. “Go wanderin’ for a few days, y’know?”
Set somewhere in Chapter 3, Arthur and Charles go on a hunting trip, and Arthur thinks on his developing relationship with Charles while getting summarily roasted by his family back at camp.
