Summary
Higgs Monaghan is dead. That was indisputable. The world is in recovery from the Death Stranding, Sam Bridges is trying to raise his daughter, and humans are finally retaking Earth.
But it will never be the same. BTs, timefall, DOOMs...they all still exist. Life and Death collided and they cannot be separated. As Fragile and Sam grapple with the aftermath of Higgs' death, their attempt to raise a child who may or may not be the next Higgs-level DOOMs wielder, and the UCA's constant nudges to get Sam back under their wing, a call from the other side might just solve all their problems. If only that call didn't come from the man they both hate the most...
...and if he hadn't somehow, inexplicably, befriended their surrogate daughter.

On route home from a delivery, Gene encounters Higgs and the two get caught in dangerous webs of confrontation as the past that Higgs is running from comes back to haunt him all the while Gene is running from her future.

There’s so much he needs to tell her. So much he’s gonna have to teach her. But what the hell does he know? And where does he even begin?
He starts with the alphabet because even though she can’t speak and doesn’t even know what the fuck a letter is, he figures it’s a fundamental thing you’re meant to teach kids and she seems to like the rhythm and recitation of it as he walks. And somewhere between there and the next mountain the letters turn into words…
Fair warning, this is going to be gratuitously fluffy and angsty. So, y’know, firmly on brand.

Each chapter is a stand-alone, unless stated otherwise Some may be romantic, platonic, or just character studies! All the necessary information will be within the description of the chapter. If necessary, there will be warnings too; I make sure to describe what you’re going to be reading just in case it’s not your cup of tea! :^) I want everyone to enjoy what they’re reading!

This series actually started because one of my mutuals and I had thought it would be fun to write the DS characters in small little warm-ups as we progressed through the game, but eventually these small drabbles turned out to be much longer than we intended. I just recently started playing Death Stranding, but my mutual has been playing since the day it came out. The whole purpose of this book is for everyone to just have fun! (Which will include me writing some self-indulgent things at times!)
