Summary
Hannah Foster has a bad dream. There were two boys in it, and they were in the wychwood. In a secluded corner of her mind, a name appears: Connor Creek. Something is wrong, Webby had sent her a dream, and she has to get to Connor Creek, wherever that is.
Meanwhile in Connor Creek, the Connor wolves are grappling with a slight problem. Desmond seems worried, and you know it's bad when Town Dad Desmond is worried. Their abilities seem to be malfunctioning, and Desmond is certain it's not because of some problem with the silver deposit. One by one, the wolves are losing control and nobody knows why. When the Schue-Horyn twins show up because Paul isn't doing well, the scale of the problem becomes apparent. It's not just the Connor Creek wolves.
With some strangers in town from a place named Hatchetfield, it's up to Artemis and Madison to figure out what's happening.
And deep in the Black and White, a subconscious laughter echoes.

Curt turns the page in his book, humming in response.
"Could you please play with your children?"
He doesn't need to look up to know Barb is peering over him, unhappy.
"And please, none of that pirate stuff. I don't want them having nightmares again."
Curt glances up. Artemis is chasing Paul through the house, both of them giggling madly. Paul turns, presumably to say something teasing, and slams into the kitchen counter.
"Curt," Barb snaps.
Curt closes the book, raising his hands in surrender. "Alright, alright."
Barb walks away, content, and Curt turns to the kids. "Who wants to play a game?"
Or, our favorite gay spies but uhhh they're pirates now.

“Chocolate that could kill me! Chocolate kills dogs, dogs are canines, wolves are canines, I’m part wolf!” Paul was practically shouting, and Sybilus had to remind him to be quiet, due to the people in the town who still did not know about the hidden werewolves. “I’m done for, man, I ate so much. We showed up today and there was this welcome gift basket, which was really nice of everybody in town, but Artemis didn’t want any and I loooove Lindt chocolate so…” he spread his hands helplessly.
Sybilus cautiously sat down on the opposite bed, feeling both relieved and confused. While it was nice to no longer be fearing for Paul’s life, it was incredibly strange how the situation had unfolded. Paul believing he might die due to a thin connection… not unlike him, exactly, but quite strange. He supposed he would rather have this than an actual threat.
