Jay makes a mistake. It's honestly not that big a deal. But in the moment, it sure as hell feels like he's suffocating. None of this would be happening if he just had better control over his powers. He's tired of feeling like the least proficient elemental master! So in an anxiety-induced haze, he makes a promise to himself: If he can't be taught discipline, he'll force it upon himself.

Summary
Tommy had been a blood bag for vampires all his life. He was trained. An expert, one could say. He knew to only speak when spoken to, always to do as he was commanded, never to defend himself, never to run, never to show his pain.
He could be perfect. A perfect blood bag.
But when the Angel of Death showed interest in him, he faced challenges he'd never thought he'd encounter.Or: Phil would normally never buy a living blood bag but strange times asked for unusual solutions. And he did intent to set him free as soon as possible and offer him a good life in one of his citys in the Antarctic empire. Why he ended up choosing this scared looking teenager was another question. Maybe following his originally plan would prove to be harder than he thought. Maybe his kids would love to have another brother.
Or: Tommy is terrified, Phil gets attached - as he does. And things get better.
Dark SBI, especially in the beginning - but Phil is a softy for fatherless kids - even if they're TECHNICALLY just a means to survival.

In the chaos of the moment, Jay’s usually steady hands trembled, and his senses seemed to warp. He didn’t even need to think twice about letting go of his rope too, the wind pushing against his body as he began falling face first towards the ground, at a speed much more rapid that what he’d seen Cole fall at just mere seconds ago.

Technically he should be screaming- any other mortal would when met with a huge being with boar features, royally dressed and adorned with enough weapons to dice a human into a grain of rice.
But Tommy wasn't scared, heck he was fighting the urge to throw himself at the Blood God and cling- but he was a big man, and big men didn't hug-
"I told you he would be waiting"
That's another voice that Tommy recognises, glancing away from the terrifying creature to land his gaze on a man sat lazily on one of the pews. His hair was curlier than Tommy's, darker too contrasting his fluffy yellow jumper and brown trenchcoat. He grins and Tommy can't help but smile back at the God of Music
"He couldn't wait to see us, obviously" teases the Blood God and Tommy scoffs
"As if- I actually live here nimrods, technically you're visiting me" he retorts and they chuckle
"Then maybe we should have knocked?"
Or: Mortal Tommy and three over-protective powerful Gods… What could possibly go wrong?

“Toms…” Phil raised his chin slowly so he was looking the boy in the eye. It took everything in him to not start crying right then and there. “Is everything truly okay? You know you can talk to us, yeah?”
Tommy looked at him. This was Phil. Tommy trusted Phil. He considered telling the truth. It was something he daydreamed about constantly. The day he would finally find the guts to tell everyone the truth, to ask for help, the day he would let Phil and Wilbur and Techno just hug him and let him cry all his pain.
But, what would his life be then? What changes that confession was going to bring? And was he ready to face them?

Tommy is deeply, achingly aware of his friends’ kindnesses. Phil had been the one to offer a spare room, with the only catch being a cost of rent far cheaper than what it should have been. But Phil had only shrugged with a slight grin.
Phil is great like that. So is Techno. So is Wilbur.
Tommy…isn’t. He just isn’t. He has nothing to him, he’s substanceless—and he feels it, in the way that the frigid winds in the August nights threaten to blow him away, like he’s made of nothing but sand.
Tommy imagines that death will be like that. He imagines that he’ll close his eyes, and his body will finally break apart and decay right then and there. He imagines that that will be the only way his memory persists—like stubborn sand hidden in the creases of the carpet.
