Summary
Scar knew that Grian was an avian. That in and of itself was a simple enough concept. The corresponding traits came with him being an avian: sleeping at high elevations, squawking every two minutes, and rubbing his “beak” on every surface possible.
Those things were more to be expected in Scar’s opinion, who’s not an avian and knows little to nothing about bird hybrids. There were other things that Scar hadn’t expected.

“Grian had no idea what to do next. Leaving the woods would mean facing the wrath of the village, and if he got past them, there was the rest of non-human fearing society to deal with. But there was also the worry that the villagers would try to come after him in the woods. After all, he wasn’t much of a monster, they might think they have a chance against him.
That left one last option, the most risky one. He could find where the monster lived and set up shelter near there, using it as a guard dog to keep him safe.
It might end with him losing his life. But what else did he have to lose?”

The Watchers are a floundering race. Beginning as benevolent gods who knew all and Saw everything, Their power grew to lust, and arrogance. They believed They held the right to rule, every server and player that existed within the Greater Code.
But because of those attempts, another faction of the Council rose against the Watchers: the Listeners. They foiled the Watchers' plans, and wiped out much of Their race.
Now just two remain. Two of the highest among Their previously bountiful ranks. And Their pet project. An unwilling apprentice.AKA A Watcher Grian fic in which the Watchers took his hearing. Other than that, it proceeds much the same as any other Watcher Grian fic.

Quackity waded in deeper, the cool water against his skin feeling like a fond, overdue embrace as long-restrained avian sounds bubbled up out of his chest. With each call, quack, and trill he felt freer, his inhibitions quickly fading into the background as he allowed himself the bliss he’d deprived himself of. Once he was deep enough, he dove beneath the soft waves, feeling the currents of the river against himself before resurfacing with a content trill. He fluttered his wings, shaking the water droplets off wildly. He dove under again, and again, and again, splashing, flapping his wing, quacking and trilling freely. He’d get tired and simply float on the surface for a few minutes, before doing it all again, bobbing under the water and playing freely. Quackity continued this behavior for hours, blissfully lost in the fuzziness of his instincts, entirely carefree with this part of himself for the first time in what felt like years.
Unbeknownst to him, the musician he had grown fond of was standing on the path, watching him from afar.

Baghera wished for death. So wholly and completely. She wished to die, drowning in her grief and the pain tearing her apart into thousands of pieces. ||

Things are starting to look up for Mirabelle and her little party. Having teamed up with Sosotte, they're well on their way to the fourth orb and the final stretch to saving Vaugarde. Monsters don't scare her anymore, the Sadnesses are weaker than her companions and she has a sympathetic ear to talk to again. She has a chance at doing this, after all!
But not all monsters are benevolent, scared people. Not all of them took to fighting just to eat, defend or survive. Some of them are completely lost.
