    Tensions between Plegia and Ylisse are high. After the Fire Emblem is stolen, Prince Chrom rides out for Plegia to reclaim it. Prince Robin meets him at the border with an army of his own, but their fight is interrupted by strange undead creatures that appeared out of nowhere. The two princes work together to dispatch the Risen, and form a friendship (and maybe something more) as they track down the Fire Emblem and the source of all these Risen.

    When Robin is injured during one battle, Chrom shows how much Robin means to him... as a friend. (AU features an uptight but not evil Validar, some canon-bending (we do not claim to be at all canon-compliant), drama and cuteness!)

    “Hey! Wait!” His steps stilled, and after a moment, he turned to face Chrom. “I don’t remember you from the war. We never fought.” 

    “Gangrel kept his tactician off the field. It was not by my choice.” 

    Surprised, Chrom looked over the fairly young prince. “It was your idea to hide reinforcements in the Fell Dragon’s skull. That was a brilliant maneuver.” He could still remember the barbarian forces pouring from the old bones in nearly overwhelming numbers. 

    “Not brilliant enough,” Robin replied. “If you’ll remember, your highness, it was Ylisse that won the day.” 

    “It was luck on our side. Without it, we would have surely failed.” 

    “I don’t believe in luck.” Robin smiled, tilting his head. The tall crown cut the air, jagged spikes like clawing fingers that cast shadows over the ground. The fire behind him, torches on the wall, created a halo of light around his body. “Apologies, Prince Chrom, but I have other things to see to. If you’ll excuse me…” He bowed, low, but he kept his eyes on Chrom. Then, turning, he walked down the hallway. Past where the torches were lit, he was swallowed by darkness.

    Robin has turned the tides in battle many times, but he does not see a way out of this. The Hierophant has every advantage over him and the only reason Robin isn’t a charred corpse is because they need him alive for Grima’s revival.
    The Hierophant scoffs at the kneeling Robin as he raises his free hand while taking out a Thoron tome. A ball of electricity sparks between the fingers, but he does not take aim at Robin, instead forcing the tactician to relive his nightmare from an spectator’s perspective as the lance of electricity is aimed at Chrom.

    In their final fight against Validar and his Hierophant, Robin sees the past about to repeat itself and makes a decision.

    Over a thousand years ago, a Thabean alchemist and his nephew sought to fill the void left by the gods’ departure. The younger became something un/holy, but the city still crumbled and fell, lost to time and sand. Decades later, a monstrous Fell God—Grima-- nurtured the desert village of Plegia into a prosperous city. Naga's champion, the First Exalt, defeated him and put him into a deep slumber as hatred between the two gods unfurled. Prophecy foretells that Grima will Awaken within the Thabes Labyrinth in 1,000 years to try to bring about the end of the world once again. Now, two halves of a greater whole find each other and stand together at the precipice of divinity and destiny.
