Thought dead by his family, Lucanis Dellamorte, the infamous Demon of Vyrantium, spends over three hundred days languishing in an impenetrable Tevene prison at the bottom of the sea. But he doesn't do it alone—and like it or not, his new demonic cellmate may be his only hope of escape. Sometimes the only way to fight your demons is to make a deal instead.

What if "Dragon Age: The Veilguard" was not stuck in such a development hell? What if Project Joplin had not wholly been abandoned? What if we truly had received a game more in line with the first three?

A hypothetical look into an alternate universe where the fourth Dragon Age had a tad fewer problems in its 10-year development cycle.

Disclaimer: I don't hate the game, I actually think it's quite great given the development hell Bioware went through in those 10 years. This is more of a hypothetical universe where there was less of that behind-the-scenes drama. Just a fun writing exercise.

    Calivan,
The other wardens don't want to go near that Crow's cell anymore. Can't we get someone else to do it? Slaves, maybe?
    – Ovidius

    Ovidius,
You are fortunate. A new shipment of slaves has arrived from Tevinter. One among them has already proven… difficult. I have no patience for insolence. If she survives feeding our little Crow, perhaps she will learn obedience. If not, then she serves her purpose as carrion.
Either way, you will not have to soil your hands with this duty again.

    Prisoners AU
Or what if Rook had been captured, enslaved, and dragged into the Ossuary? What if there, in the heart of that underwater prison, she came face-to-face with the Crows’ deadliest mage-killer Lucanis Dellamorte, possessed by a Demon of Spite?

A tale of survival, corruption, and defiance, where freedom has a price and vengeance might be the only light left in the deep.

Any day that a new voice appears in Lucanis's head can be considered a bad day. On the bright side, if this isn't a hallucination, he and his demons might finally get out of the Ossuary.

    Summary

Lucanis wanted one thing out of life, and that was to make good coffee. Unfortunately, the circumstances of his birth demanded that he kill people for money.
Rook was in love with the baristo at Cafe Pietra. Unfortunately, she didn't even know his name.
    ...
Set mainly in Treviso, Rook is a college student with a crush on the local baristo at her favorite cafe. Little does she know, he's actually a master assassin--one who might just be able to help her prevent the university from shutting down the exchange program that keeps her from being sent back to Minrathous.
(Alternative plotline, kind of a coffee shop AU that plays with elements of canon later on.)

    Summary

Lucanis disliked the West. It was wild, hot, and dry. There were no good cafés, but mostly, it was crawling with Venatori.

Until the contract for Calivan, he’d seen them as little more than targets — easy bounties.

A year locked away in the Ossuary changed that. Now, he hated the West and every last member of that blood cult.

Escaping had nearly cost him his life. He needed medical attention, and worse, he had his own guardian demon named Spite. That was how they stumbled upon the mortician in a small town called Nevarra.

Emmrich was everything the Crows had trained Lucanis not to be — empathetic, merciful, and above all, kind. Lucanis owed him a debt for the healing, and over time, he learned how life in this strange town worked.

There was still revenge to take. Still contracts left unfulfilled.

    But there was also Emmrich.

Maybe he didn’t hate the West as much as he thought.

By happenstance it was your luck that you were confronted with this situation. A deadly assassin locked away in a prison of your own order. Being a Venatori also meant being unlucky. Almost constantly. Fleeing the scene made you believe you had a chance of a normal life, but as always that wasn't meant for you. An encounter with a Crow in the Treviso streets changes your outlook on life completely.

    Summary

This is a collection of love stories. Some are tragedies. Some are feel-good.

I love taking characters who got very little attention in-game and giving then a fleshed out story.

I also love redeeming bad guys.

    And I love rarepairs.

Started out as Veilguard characters but I'm branching out a bit and now this collection includes any short stories within the Dragon Age universe.

There is smut... but there is as much (or more) emphasis on story.

I really enjoy including bits of lore or in-game dialogue/events to match the stories I weave so they almost seem like they could fit.

    Summary

The prison’s bone-numbing cold penetrates her clothes and skin, burns through her muscles and bones. A sickening chill starts behind her eyes, slithers through her mind, drags its claws down her back, and coils into a fist. Those clenched, phantom fingers around her spine tell her she is not alone, and she is almost afraid to look at the source…

Spite stares at her through stolen, crimson eyes, and croaks in a voice that doesn’t belong to it, and yet sounds nothing like Lucanis, Welcome. To hell. Rook.

    ***

The demon gets in Rook’s face, hissing and spitting. I want out. Make him let me out. Its stolen face contorts with rage and it whirls to face Lucanis. You never listen. You listen to her. It looks between them, furious. Make him leave this place. Rook. Crow-witch. Make. Him. Leave.

I can’t, she thinks. I can’t make him do anything. Not after all that’s been done to him. I can’t be the one who breaks him.

    Summary

It started with feelings that weren't his own. He just had to keep his distance, keep the demon contained. Then he could just focus on the contract. But the more he traveled and fought by their side, the more he wondered if all he was feeling was really just Spites' obsession or was walking to close to an edge he could not climb back up from.

Lucanis' romance from his perspective as he slowly falls for Rook.

Rooks' race/gender/appearance/class is left ambiguous for the reader to imagine their own idea of Rook for the story. The only decisions made is that Rook is from the Crows and is very purple response leaning.

    Summary

It seems these days, Lucanis Dellamorte's jobs are never simple. His contract? Kill one Magister Ferris Henric.
As a Crow, Caterina's chosen no less, he's supposed to do his job and return for the next one. However, he hadn't accounted on finding life, intelligent life, in this workshop. Lucanis finds himself at a crossroads. Remedy the situation himself, or walk away, job completed, and hope no one else comes across this place and finishes the magister's work themselves.
    Good thing Illario wasn't here.

To her, this was everything. She had heard talk of this supposed world outside this dark chamber. Here she was surrounded by things similar but not quite the same as her. Her time for freedom was limited, that she knew, but each attempt at freedom was met with sharp, shocking punishments.
Then one day, someone new stood before her. Clothes stained red as he regarded her with eyes that seemed cold, but like her enclosure, it was merely a barrier between her and the world.
