HELLO HEARTBREAKER FIC ALERT. WHEN AUTHOR TAGS ANGST IT GETS WORSE DID THEY EVER FUCKING MEAN IT. A non-linear narrative filled with a creeping sense of horror, AND THE FUCKING BUILD UP TO REVEAL. This is one of those fics that you need to read twice, because the second time recontextualizes all of the chains interactions with Wind throughout the entire fic. 10/10 would recommend a perfect fic to read in October

What they didn’t expect, though, is that the danger might sometimes be closer than they think. It might be in the nearest tree, in the flower that stands alone at their feet, in the blade of grass that looks slightly suspicious.
Who knows, it could even maybe —just maybe— be in the shape of their own footsteps. In the wind that lightly hits their faces. In the darkness of their own shadows.
They don’t know if it's standing right next to them. Or watching them in their sleep. Or talking to them using words that feel somehow in the wrong voice.
It’s hard to believe that it could even be staring directly at their eyes with the gaze that used to be blue.

Time opened his eye to a world on fire. The bittersweet smell of smoke forced its way into his lungs, and he coughed. Above him, where the roof used to be, was the moon, just as terrible and big as it had been in Termina. It filled Time’s vision.
“Oh, thank Hylia you’re awake.”
Time reluctantly peeled his eye from the giant red one in the sky and looked at the person in front of him. Warriors. His blond hair swayed gently in the breeze. The plate armor reflected the red light. His blue scarf was slightly torn by the hem. In his hand was a sword, ready to defend them both if needed. Time thought Warriors looked more like the typical storybook hero than Time ever had.Ten different versions of how the Chain met. The first nine chapters will feature a story in which eight of the Links meet their last member. The last one will feature a story about how all of them meet at once. Title may be subject to change.

I LOVE THIS FIC SO MUCH!! THE YEARNING! THE WANTING TO TRUST SO BADLY BUT BEING SCARED OF FUCKING UP THE INTERACTIONS!! A masterclass in showing complex relationships within the chain in relation to Twilight. Home boy is oozing dark magic everywhere and is so obviously a predator despite how soft and caring he is. Also in this AU he received the triforce of power after killing Ganondork and it's a really interesting subplot point that is beginning to be explored. Really hope there's an update for this one day because it ends on a high tension point after building up for so long.
