Blitz hires Stolas as a secretary so the owl won’t be alone with his dark thoughts at the flat when Blitz and Loona are at work. For a week things are going kinda fine. As much fine as they could be in Stolas' state while the two of them are stuck in this pseudo-romantic relationship.

Without warning, the Imp leaped from the bean bag chair he’d been sleeping in and rushed over to Stolas.
“Lean down!” he demanded.
“Blitz, wha—?”
“FUCKING LEAN DOWN!” Blitz didn’t wait and pulled the bird by his wrists so he met his eye level. Then he started wordlessly examining Stolas, parting the feathers at the crown of the head, turning his beak this way and that, feeling the skin of his wrists and neck.
Seemingly not finding what he was looking for, Blitz searched Stolas’s ruby red eyes for something, gaze darting all over the owl’s features. Then he pulled the prince into a hug, rubbing his face into his fluffy chest.
Hesitantly, Stolas returned the hug, rubbing his back. * Did he have a nightmare? About me? *

For the last few months, life seemed to treat Blitz pretty well. His business was growing, Moxxie has finally stopped being an annoying whinny bitch and Blitz was actually starting to respect him a little, even Loona seemed to warm up to him, even let him hug her with only a slight growl, and most importantly, he thought he was finally ready to open up to Stolas and have a genuine relationship with him. For the first time in his life, things were really looking up for the former clown.
So of course something just HAD to go extremely, wonderfully, wrong eventually.-
