Despite his efforts not to startle the younger boy, he noticed how Keith flinched before turning to face him. His appearance just made Shiro’s worry grow; his usual dark circles appeared infinitely darker, the slight shake of his hands that he could see from the other side of the room, and his distant eyes that didn't recognize Shiro until they cleared.
“Couldn’t sleep,” Keith said quietly. The words sounded too heavy, too delayed, and Shiro knew this wasn’t just a rough night.
Or
Keith doesn't know why he randomly started remembering old memories he forced himself to forget, and tries to act like nothing's wrong before the others notice. Too bad things never go as planned.
