“I believe that he’s decided to set the guy on fire,” Bitsy deadpanned.

“Peter, is it supposed to be doing that?” One of his students asked him. He looked up to see the industrial-strength magnets he’d collected for this lab trying to crack through the glass between them to be reunited. The glass splintered.
“Yeah, no. That’s totally fine,” he lied. Then he inconspicuously chased everyone to the corner of the lab, donned a glove, and smashed the glass so that it wouldn’t splinter and stab someone in the eye in its explosion.
His students cheered.
He needed a drink.
(Peter gets called back to the city at the age of 25 to help mitigate the rapidly increasing crime rate. He's in way over his head, so he sets out to re-establish Team Red.)

He can’t believe that he’s helping another human. Another full night of studying, and this time there isn’t even a threat on humanity. He’s only doing it because he likes the young woman who is currently sleeping in his bed. He thought he had learned not to do that anymore after… them. It hasn’t even been a month.
That’s the real curse of having a doctor for a mother, Alucard thinks. There’s always someone else who he cannot refuse to help, even if he so desperately wanted to have nothing to do with it this time.
He still feels incredibly conflicted. He needs time for many things, including figuring out how the fuck he feels right now. Too much has happened. He wants to remain isolated, wants to keep out any visitors, and a side of him revels in the two bodies on his front lawn, displayed to the entire world, and, perhaps most importantly, displayed to himself. They say: keep out! and I won! and don’t try anything on danger of death! For a moment he imagines this is what his father felt like all these years ago.
However, at the same time he so desperately wants to not be alone. And he imagines that that, too, is exactly how his father felt right before his mother knocked on the doors of the old castle.

A vampires' stronghold in Styria, a forgemaster, an army, and a relentless hunt--well, Sypha had said that she wanted more of a challenge. Alucard, numb and grieving from his last encounter with a pair of humans, hasn't asked to be pulled into the drama as well, but suddenly his choices are: a) help Sypha, or b) let Trevor die and the world burn.
He's strangely all right with the world burning.
IF they get out of Styria alive and IF he helps them save Wallachia again--and for one thing he can't, because they are most definitely outclassed this time--Alucard's reward will be watching them ride into the sunset together. Again. It's time to pick sides, but Adrian Țepeș has no desire to play anymore.
And also, he wants to be the one picked.
