Respawning was a tricky business in the new updates. No one but the gods knew why it became more glitchy as time went on, they just knew it was best to avoid dying at any cost. They didn't want to chance the respawn glitch and die permanently.
No one would've ever thought that someone would use that glitch to their advantage, but when a strange admin joins the server without permission, they'll realize that not everyone has good intentions.

Unfortunately the fire hadn’t burned through the net, which seemed reinforced with something that couldn’t be reduced to ashes. The area in front of Dream, on the contrary, still held the sputtering purplish glow and the grass underneath was blackened and dead.

The day Scott and Xisuma gave the New Life Hermits their warp crystals, Xisuma only had one piece of advice: “Don’t break it.”
Warping between universes isn’t necessarily convenient, but Gem was overjoyed by the possibility the moment she got her New Life invitation. She could easily balance two worlds – heck, she’d seen Pearl join three servers at once sometimes. She said yes to the invitation instantly and put the tiny lime green crystal on a pendant around her neck, and now, she never takes it off.
Well, “never” is a bit of a strong word. “Never” suggests that she doesn’t take it off when she goes mining and jumps between levels every two minutes. “Never” implies that she doesn’t ever get annoyed when she’s running away from mobs and the pendant flies up and hits her in the face. “Never” means that when a skeleton pops up behind her as she’s walking home at night, she doesn’t take her necklace off as she runs away and clenches it in her fist instead of putting it safely in her inventory.
Unfortunately, she does do that.
or: Gem accidentally breaks an important rule and decides to pretend it never happened. (It doesn't go well.)

Hybrids are accepted in this society. At least, for the most part. Some of the Nether-born ones had a little harder time, but it was manageable. Technoblade knows that he should not be jealous of them. They deserved to be treated as living creatures.

Well, let's just say that people more often than not stayed out of his way. And the company he worked for? Fighting for the amusement of others? Yeah, they did not really care too much about his well being.
