His son flinched, but didn't even glance his way, still focused solely on the blanket-wrapped baby.
"His name's Fundy," he said finally, softly and more to himself than to anyone else.
"That's not what I asked."
Wilbur looked up, but still didn't look in his direction. Instead, he stared straight ahead, blank, unseeing eyes, and suddenly the first tears ran down his cheeks.
"Sally left us," he whimpered, not even trying to wipe his face. Or maybe he just didn't know how to do it, hands still clenched on the blue blanket.
Phil almost physically felt the last of his naive hope escape from under his fingers.
"Oh. Oh, Wilbur," he sighed, barely recognizing his own voice, not even knowing when he had opened his mouth. "What did you do?"

That’s the term he uses for it, anyway. Cursed. Blessed. “Given a gift.” Whatever. The facts of the matter: He goes to sleep, snuggled beneath the covers of his twin bed with no greater worries than what to play at recess tomorrow … and wakes up spitting sand and pebbles.

At six, Tommy was cursed. At ten, he was kicked out onto the streets. At fifteen, he’s just trying to survive.
When he accidentally breaks a window, he doesn’t expect to have to work off the debt in a café. He certainly doesn’t expect to meet Phil, Techno, and Wilbur. Or to start liking them.
He’s broken, certainly. But they’re kind, and slowly, Tommy finds himself opening up.

Tommy has been searching for a happy ending for years, pulling his weight for hundreds of thousands of miles to find his last living relative. Tied to a heavy past and hoping for a future with less of a burden, he drags himself to Technoblade to try and discover his happily ever after.
The problem: Techno doesn't want to see him. Techno doesn't want him back after he ran from home with Wilbur over five years ago. The two of them were birds that had flown the nest; Tommy can't expect Techno to welcome him back with open arms. Maybe, though— maybe he'll come around.

Summary
TommyInnit did not grow up coddled by two loving parents to show him what it was like to be human.
He did not grow up with gently sang lullabies, and he did not grow up searching for the calm before the storm— no, Tommy was the storm. Tommy grew up with a knife tucked into his waistband, slop food, and the promise of money as a reward to simply surviving. He has fought his way to the top, and now, he reaps the benefits.
When Technoblade left, things changed. Tommy was no longer half of the most powerful duo the Pit had ever seen. He was placed under strict watch and lock and key for two weeks until a new face appeared: Wilbur Soot, who claimed to want him as a running mate. When Tommy accepts, breathing fresh air for the first time in nearly a decade, the Pit will not release the grip it has on his ankles, dragging him back down every time he dares to close his eyes.
He will never stop looking for the ones that did make him human.

Summary
It’s cold. Tommy is well accustomed to the freezing temperatures of November, but the 16th creeps up on him until there’s no more time to cope. Tubbo’s been meaning to host a memorial, and today is the day, but his best friend finds himself unable to make his speech, leaving Tommy to do the job.
Tommy makes the speech, bullshitting his way through it, and flees to Ranboo’s house in the Arctic when Wilbur decides to throw in his two cents. Coincidentally, he comes into close (very close) contact with an old ally who comes looking for Ranboo and finds someone much different.
Tommy cannot figure out how to speak to Technoblade without the sharp, piercing noise of explosives ringing in his ears.
